Hacienda Barrigona is located just 30 minutes from the town of Nosara, and on Playa Barrigona beach. Hacienda Barrigona has just 10 individual guest rooms and is home to a private 500-acre nature lover’s playground and Hacienda Beach. This place was such a magical stay. It has both the feel of a jungle and a private beach house. Aside from the gorgeous aesthetic of the houses and the grounds, the staff was so sweet and went above and beyond to make sure we were content. The food was authentic and delicious. My boyfriend and I stayed in Casa Guanacaste and it was perfect fit, tucked away in the flora with a view of the ocean. It was a short walk to the restaurant and beach. We also had a great short drive to Nosara to check out the local shops and surfing. Overall, an incredible and unique stay. Anyone who would like to get to know this region better and travel with groups or even just a significant other would enjoy this immensely.

This property is a hidden jewel! Beachfront with a private access to a white sand, spacious, beautiful beach (Playa Barrigona) with all shades of green and blue. Sunsets are unreal. If you look for privacy this is your place. If you look for tranquillity and natural space, this is your place. If you want a king treatment, this is your place. Pros: ✔️ Costumer service is ridiculous good. All Personal is professional and efficient. Problems solving is A+. Please give my regards to Lina, she is just an angel who will make you feel more welcome than at your own house. Lovely human being. Trust her. ✔️ Food is delicious. As a Costarrican I can grade typical food and it's perfect. You can ask in advance what you wish to eat. Fresh local fruits, serving is always on time, caring table arrangements and of course deliciously cooked. ✔️Clean rooms. Rooms are perfect size, spacious, comfortable, nice balcony, beach view and very quite and private. Cozy! ✔️Beach access. In Costa Rica all beaches are public but since the property is located right in front of the ocean, it really feels like the beach is part of it. 5-10 minutes walk from main door. Few locals come around. Cons: ✔️Road is rocky, as it is in most beach roads in the country. But even if you don't drive a 4x4 you can get there no problem. ✔️Remember it rains 6 months out of the year, so be aware that during rainy season you might see sunshine only half the day. Exactly, cons have nothing to do with the property, reason why I will be back. Enjoy!!!

I've never been in Nosara before, and we decided to take this chance to visit this property, we went with a group of friends, and took the three houses, we went with the idea to enjoy the stay there, (I mean not necesarily arounds) take advantage of that exclusivity, so large area for so many houses. I suggest watch the video in their website, so I don´t tell you the same things, what we can say.... is a paradise, that´s the way it is. It´s wild, trails, forest, and rural roads, houses are an oasis in that deep forest, all of them spanish style, with beautiful private pool, and very spacious. Yes, you will find insects, frogs, spiders, etc! but that´s the nature you are coming to! Anyway I don´t find mosquitos, or plague. The beach is beautiful and looks virgin, yes, it´s a kind of choppy, I mean is a pacific coast beach, you can go inside, walk or stay not so far, but if you expect go swimming may be is not a good idea, has strong currents. Its coast has a beautiful spots, with palm trees, forest, rocks, is a very nice beach to spend the weekend, read, drink, relax, meditate, etc. and also forgot to tell you, is walking distance from the property. Minimum stay I would recommend 2 days, 3 better. I would recommend also go by a 4x4 car, it´s not mandatory, but desirable. Service is A+ !! They are very concerned you really have a nice stay, things changes drastically in this weather, rain, sun, stormlights, etc., but you feel they are there to make your stay totally pleasent!!

We were at Hacienda Barrigona for 10 days attending a Laurie Doctor art retreat. The experience was exceptional. By the time we left the Hacienda I felt like a part of the family. Lyna is an amazing host and seems to exist on no sleep as she attends to every detail of everyone’s stay with great humor and grace. The rooms are comfortable, the food delicious, the staff friendly, the views fantastic, the little pool a haven, the beach stunning, the monkey world in the trees above fun to watch... the dining room where all three meals are served sits atop a hill ~ for those who have compromised walking ability Lyna will arrange for your transportation to and from the dining room. For those who can walk it’s a journey up the hill and you feel worthy of your meal! Someday I would like to book the Hacienda for a personal Family reunion as everything if right there without having to deal with tourists in a town. It’s easy enough to get to nearby Nosara or Samara(?) for a day trips if you want more action but my preference is the seclusion of Hacienda Barrigona. If you surf Lyna will help to arrange a surf board rental for you... It’s a wonderful experience to stay here and I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for such a lovely experience at Hacienda Barrigona. The property is absolutely stunning. The rooms are beautiful with stunning views. The food was delicious and so plentiful and caters to all dietary needs. The best part of the experience was meeting with Lyna. She has so much passion for the property and you can tell she takes good pride in the space and in meeting and engaging with guests. She truly made me feel like at home!
