Having read very good reviews of the hotel before we booked we had high expectations. The hotel certainly lived up to these expectations! The staff were without exception welcoming and informative. The garden room which was an upgrade for us was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view towards the Solius valley. We were able to enjoy the patio area which was sunny all day. There were also pleasant places to sit outside and enjoy a glass of something. We were totally spoilt for choice at breakfast and the evening meals were a pleasant experience, the staff always professional and attentive with a smile. Although the spa area is relatively small it did not feel overcrowded. The hotel is very well placed for pleasant walks and places of interest inland and at the coast. We are certainly planning on another stay in the not too distant future.

There is nothing negative to say about this place. We found it when our original accommodation had issues with the air conditioning and had to move hotels. Located in the countryside with beautiful views. The rooms are beautiful with big comfortable beds our room had a separate area for clothes and a lovely bathroom. We had a terrace with 2 lovely chairs. The pool area was lovely with plenty of loungers and shaded areas, there was also a bar for drinks and snacks. The restaurant is incredible and great value for money we ate there 3 out of 5 nights and it was delicious. Definitely recommend the gastronomic menu 45 euros a head which included wine, water and coffees. The breakfast buffet is amazing with so many beautiful choices this was probably one of the best places for breakfast we’ve been. We hired bikes for the day which is a great way to see the area, some great routes and very well set up. The hotel is about an 11 minute drive from the beach at San pol a place we love 💕 We will most definitely be coming back

Everything was very good, the service is probably the best but also location and facilities are really good.
Food was great, specially the new years Eve menu, but there was not a lot of healthy choices on the day to day, misses a more light food at the restaurant.
In terms of price is a bit high for what it is, meaning it's worth it but a bit pricey vs competition with similar or sometimes better facilities.

We went to Mas Tapiloas as a family. We took a Double room with balcony for my mother in law and Family room for our 9 year old daughter and my husband and I. The room was lovely except the bed for our daughter which was a sofa bed. In the image in the web site it showed a seperate space with bedside table and pretty picture together with a normal single bed. It was the entrance room to the room so not seperate at all and it was clearly a ugly sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable. The “garden” is ok but nothing to write home about and their are no extras like in other hotels like soap, shampoo or a little packet of biscuits. It’s pump soap and shampoo and conditioner which reminds me of a cheap motel.
The restaurant was beautifully presented but a complete disappointment. Firstly the service does not come with a smile. Food was very average and the kids meals were not edible. When I ordered a snack during the day it was a hamburger with chips which is hard to get wrong but unfortunately it was not edible.
The spa is a highlight. Really beautiful and well designed. I loved every minute there. I thought to try a treatment so went to the spa receptionist and asked in Spanish if she spoke English and she replied ‘in Spanish’ (I speak fluent Italian so I understood her), “I don’t speak English but I speak perfect Spanish”! I was pretty shocked at her rudenes. I had asked in Spanish as a courtesy but she had absolutely no regard for me at all.
The staff at reception were nice but no more than that. It felt like they had had their high season (July/August) and were tired and over it by the time we arrived.
I would recommend the hotel for its spa but I would say that the rest including kids play area (very un kept) pool and restaurant let it down. The staff were also not impressive at all. Could be much betters!

Hotel setting and rooms were lovely but overall the experience could have been better. Staff were welcoming but didn’t explain all the facilities and how to use them. Nor did they offer any suggestions for areas to visit / things to do. The pool bar wasn’t properly staffed and was a bit tatty - gravel/sand surface which wasn’t particularly pleasant to walk on. They could have taken much more business if they had staff walking round asking guests if they needed drinks etc. we hired bikes which were a good standard and also used the pitch and putt. Food in the restaurant was good although would have been better if menus were a bit more varied and different at lunch and dinner. We had a hybrid car and had to ask about charging points which were not in a handy location.

We just returned from Mas Tapiolas and I felt compelled to write a review immediately. We did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is listed as 4 star and I would suggest if there was a 4.5 star rating they would deserve it. The location is great for adventurous travelers who want to be near all that Costa Brava has to offer. The hotel is not far from endless gorgeous beaches and calas "coves", quaint towns and historical sites as well as a myriad of outdoor activities. The Tapiolas provides a quiet respite off the beaten path in the tranquil country side. Everything about the hotel was well thought out and pleasant for families, yet it still felt elegant and adult. The kids room was a nice surprise as was the special kids hour in the spa. My 6 year old thought the spa pool was a trip highlight. The breakfast was excellent and dinner was very nice . I also wasn't expecting a lively lounge with evening entertainment. Service was very polished and welcoming. We are eager to return and thinking of doing so in the off season for a more romantic getaway. If I had to find one issue it would be the twinkle lights attached to the entire trim of the gorgeous, rustic, farmhouse building. I guess some people like it, but to me it seemed a bit cheesy, especially considering the beauty of the structure. They did their best to work around and enforce the draconian and silly Covid related restrictions imposed on them. If you worry about that stuff they are fully compliant.

We received a gift voucher for one night at this hotel with the tasting dinner included on the occasion of our wedding. The location is ideal, in the middle of a beautiful landscape and with great views. The structure, whether the original farmhouse or the later extension, is decorated in a way that gracefully mixes rustic and design. The room (we had a superior room) was spacious and comfortable, with a terrace with fantastic views. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was full of details. Cleanliness and maintenance a 10: the rooms, the common areas, the garden, the pool... everything impeccable. And the staff…a 20! From the reception to the bar, the dining room and even the cleaning staff, they were all very attentive and pleasant without being invasive or clingy. The tasting menu, although tasty, was not the best in my opinion but that small detail does not prevent me from giving this establishment the highest grade.

Very clean hotel, with nice rooms and good food at the restaurant; albeit quite expensive
Negatives:
Overrun with wasps.
The pool bar wasn’t properly staffed and used glasses were left all day around the poolside, wherever they had been left by guests. Dangerous to children and a magnet for the wasps.
Floating poo in the pool… you didn’t miss read that.
Couldn’t use garden area outside bedroom due to wasps.
The most unhelpful and arrogant maitre d I’ve had the miss fortune to come across. She has no place in a restaurant and hotel of this price. Refused us tables, despite them being laid and empty without justification. We explained it was to get away from the wasps, which had already stung my son the previous evening. If it wasn’t for the fact one of us speaks fluent Spanish and argued with her in front of guests, she would not have done as requested.
I think others have mentioned it, but some staff definitely seem to have a problem with guests who aren’t Spanish.
Would I return or recommend…no. At this price service and hospitality is everything, there are many other hotels in this area and I’m afraid I’d say give them a try.

Our hotel is placed in a rural environment within the beautiful Costa Brava countryside where little insects are expected. We feel so sorry about your son, this is so painful and because we know this, we have a pest control service coming regularly and since then, the frequency of that control, has been increased. We have a pool bar waiter during the outdoor pool opening times therefore we are surprised by your comment. We apologise if in a specific moment it wasn’t properly attended. We will take steps to correct that. It is true that during your stay we had that incident at the pool but it was resolved immediately with the corresponding health and safety protocol by our team. Though the hotel is ready for any unexpected occurrence we would like to apologize for the unpleasant situation you experienced. We are very unhappy you did not have the best experience at the restaurant the first night but we feel glad to know you had dinner the following nights and had a nice time. We wish to clarify that practically half our guests are not Spanish and all of them are very welcome here. Rest assured that our hotel upholds excellent levels of standards in providing a high quality service to our guests and resolving issues is part of our work. Family stay for 3 days with my wife and my daughter, 2 nights. A wonderful spa and the environment of the hotel is so quiet. Specially during this period of winter I guess. The breakfeast is very good and various. Its place is quiet also due to different little rooms. We have to walk a little to bring the food at the place but that's ok. The rooms are very confortable and spacious. Perhaps some improvements could be done of course: soundproofing of rooms (the main issue but we don't suffer as not many people), some place to put the humid towels in the bathroom.

Yes, there is a small refrigerator in the room. As for cribs, I am not sure since we didn't bring our kids. but our suite did have 2 beds. One bed was at the entrance, across from the bathroom, and the master bed was in the next room which was much bigger (both bed and room). But if you have a baby/toddler, not sure if the bed is a safe option. I suggest you email the hotel and ask if the have cribs available.
There are more places to choose from in the Santa Cristina d'Aro area.
