This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Princesa Yaiza Hotel Resort, often celebrated for its prime location near beaches and local attractions, has received mixed reviews. While the staff's professionalism and the hotel's cleanliness are frequently lauded, guests feel the additional charges for amenities and dining detract from the overall value.
The spacious rooms are a plus, but some visitors mention dated decor and noise issues. The atmosphere is noted for its traditional charm, though calls for updates and livelier entertainment are common.

Detailed Reviews
For the last few years we've had a winter break on Fuerteventura. This year we decided to go back to Playa Blanca on Lanzarote which we last visited in 2003.
We were glad we did and that we chose the Princesa Yaiza which I think had just opened in 2003.
We had a Junior Suite on the 5th Floor (one floor above reception) which suited our needs perfectly and was very clean when we arrived and kept that way by the hotel staff.
The food at breakfast was fresh and well presented which helped account for the couple of kg I put on during my stay.
We stayed B&B and there were plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area which we found to be of good quality and reasonably priced especially if you like seafood.
The hotel has an adults only breakfast room if you like peace in the morning but we didn't make use of it as we didn't feel the need.
Only minor gripe is we would have liked a walk in shower rather than step in type which could be a disadvantage for older or less able folks.
Also €3.50 for a small bottle of still water in the fridge is a bit steep as we didn't notice they were on the minibar list...
Would we come back here? Almost certainly...

We have been here last April on a family holiday. With only a small distance away from Amsterdam, Lanzarote is ideal if you don't want to fly to far (we have two little kids) but do like plenty of sun hours. We have long searched for the perfect hotel on the Canary Islands and we have found it in Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort. Upon entrance you feel the great ambience of the hotel and the welcome was very pleasant and warm. We really felt like we were on a holiday, eager to check out our room and the swimming areas. It did not disappoint. We had a "suite economy" roomtype with additional baby beds. This worked out fine for us, but next time I would book a bigger room like the family type rooms they offer (just to have a little more confort once the kids go to bed).
We booked half board, since our kids are just to little to take out to dinner every night (away from the hotel I mean) There was plenty of great food to choose from so our kids were easily satisfied.
Everybody was really helpful all the time, from the cleaners to the dinner staff, making our experience even better. We actually just confirmed a second stay for this year as well, since we enjoyed it so much.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
We have just returned having stayed at the hotel for a week with just myself and my wife for a relaxing week and for the second week were joined by our family - 4 couples in total.
We have stayed before, knowing the hotel and the area and expected the lower levels of staff and customers and high levels of restrictions given the pandemic.
What added to the challenge for the hotel was that we are predominantly a vegan family with one celiac also. Given also the limited restaurants open inside and outside the hotel we expected this to be a problem.
We booked 4 junior suites and had adjacent rooms on the 6th floor with massive balconies and a fantastic view over the pools, and of the sea and beautiful beach, which through British Airways were great value, and the only way to go.
We had to wear masks everywhere apart from when eating & drinking, or on the poolside, and this made us feel really safe and is in large why the island has such a low infection rate.
Our experience was absolutely brilliant, with a leadership team keen to understand what they could do differently for us and with clear evidence that all of the colleagues had been briefed on our requirements and a willingness to go the extra mile.
Within the constraints and restrictions of the world we live in, we were exposed to a positive can-do attitude that would have been exemplary in the busiest of times - a pleasant surprise.
The rooms were spotlessly cleaned daily as was every part of the hotel. The gym and main facilities were open and the two main pools prepared daily with care and attention regardless that there were only a few residents.
Special mention and thanks to Mohamed in the Hacienda restaurant who was always there for us, Hassan and the team at breakfast all of who cooked especially for us daily.
Elisa and Anna in customer relations, you were brilliant in not only making sure everything was what it should be, but also for organising a couple of external excursions that were phenomenal. Thanks to Angela on the tour who made the day and was such a great person to spend time with, and the team of Catalanza V1 for an amazing experience, brilliant boat, brilliant food and great company.
It is a shame that the Hotel may be closing temporarily soon due to the numbers, and just when the Canary Islands have been opened up again.
A wonderful relaxing holiday with great service and many fond memories.
If you have dietary requirements, its a great place to go.
Thank you Princess Yiaza team and hope to visit you again next year.

Arrived 21st July despite having concerns about travel with the current COVID19 situation. The hotel and setting are beautiful and worth 5 stars however please be aware (I was not) that the hotel is running on limited facilities due to 10% resident capacity currently. There was only 1 restaurant open in the main area and this hotel advertises numerous restaurants / bars. It was a little disappointing that you were not able to get food at lunchtime here. We had to go out of the resort to find local places to eat and they were not plentiful as most were closed. I used the Spar in the town a lot which I hadn't really considered before travelling. Not my idea of 5 star experience.
The hotel rooms are amazing and every day were cleaned and 'turn down' touch was sweet leaving chocolates on the bed.
The food is excellent here but just a shame only one of the venues open for business. Hassan the bar and restaurant manager was very attentive and helpful as were all the staff in the hotel.
I found the drinks here very expensive, having to pay 6 euros for a bottle of water is a bit steep and felt water should be free.
I understand we are living in strange times and hotels are only just getting back to normal so all I would advise is that you think about the lack of facilities open to you here when booking as it was a very expensive trip for me!
I will definitely return and know that once the world gets back to some sort of normality, this hotel would be absolutely perfect!

I have just returned from an amazing week at the Princess Yaiza Suite Hotel where I had gone for a rest and winter sunshine. The interior of the hotel is beautifully decorated with an abundance of tropical greenery and the entrance hall impressively decorated by first class flower displays. As I was travelling alone, I had doubts about how staff would treat me in the restaurant etc. as there were lots of couples and families - I need not have worried as the staff bent over backwards to be friendly and helpful and worked really hard to make you feel at ease. The food was incredibly good with a huge range of canapes, salads and all kinds of main course dishes (including many local specialities) at dinner and breakfasts with everything you could possibly imagine. I took the opportunity to have the a la carte leisurely breakfast on the terrace (5 euros extra) and this proved to be delightful and well worth doing during your stay. My room was huge with separate dressing room and outside sitting area. The cleanliness of the hotel is immaculate and when a major dust storm came in from the Sahara, staff worked hard to clear the red sand which had settled everywhere. Reception staff were excellent and efficient and well able to deal with the many visitors constantly arriving at the hotel.
This must be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and it certainly merits every one of the ***** star ratings it receives. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We only stayed at this hotel for one night. Our return flight with Jet2 was cancelled due to the sandstorms in the Canary Islands and they put us, amongst many other travellers into this hotel for the evening.
I got the impression that the hotel wasn't very busy, but after a call from Jet2 that was about to change. I am impressed at how well this hotel was able to gather staff, food, linen and be able to clean and prepare as many room as they did in the short period of time they had. There were roughly four coach loads of us arriving in the space of a couple of hours. The hotel staff didn't grumble, they just got on with their job. Towards the end of the day you could tell a few of the reception staff were getting tired, but who could blame them.
As a family of four, we were given a family room over in the family block, and bloody hell was the room nice. For a start it was huge, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a mini-bar, plenty of space and it was lovely and clean given we'd had sand storms for the two days previous.
The food was nice, I won't comment too much on its quality as I don't know if this was the hotels normal food, or whether it was put on just for us. We had a burger from the snack bar, and it was good quality and worth the price. Staff were very friendly, and payed attention to children. The kids that we experienced was fab, and the hotel itself is pretty amazing compared to the 3 star we'd checked out from earlier in the day (it was a cheap holiday).
All-in-all, if we were to return to this resort, this hotel would be high up on our list.
The only negative we found, is that drinks in the hotel are a little on the expensive side. I think we paid just under 6 euros for a large beer.
The staff of this hotel should pat themselves on the back for the effort they put into accommodating us all at such short notice. If this is the level of assistance and support they provided to us, I can only imagine how good they are when they're not under as much pressure.

We’ve just arrived back from our fabulous stay in this hotel, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish, the hotel is very big, and takes a day to get used to, have to say all the staff from the reception to the people who cleaned the rooms, they always had a smile on their face and willing to help in anyway they could, I must make a comment on one of the charming people on reception Carina who helped us enormously she spoke to my wife in French, as my wife is French speaking which helped a lot she gave us all the information we needed for our stay very professional and helpful always a smile on her face. The room was first class clean spacious all you could wish for. Depending on the formula you booked ours was half board lux, which meant we could also eat in one of the à la carte restaurants one of which we really appreciated the Isla Lobos, the manager of the restaurant Guido was a fabulous host and gave us first class service. Just to mention as well the buffet restaurant was also very good from breakfast to evening meal with a first class choice of food and wine list great service as well. The swimming pools from the fresh water to the heated were just what we expected. The hotel is also perfectly situated along the beach front, where you can stroll into the town and to the local shops and bars.we had an absolute fabulous time and would like to thank all the staff for their help, and smiling faces

We had a great week at the Princesa Yaiza hotel in early January. Lovely blue skies and warm enough to sunbathe but not so hot as to worry too much about the children. We – and our twin 4 yr olds - loved the free childcare for 3 to 12 yrs olds in Kikoland (the hotel’s child focused playareas with climbing frames, slides etc) and the entertainment staff were great in keeping the children amused! Our 18month old went in the crèche and with a package of 8hrs for €70 which can be spread across the week plus a free hour it wasn’t nearly as expensive as advertised by the hotel (headline rate was €22/hr!). There is also a nice little soft play next to the restaurants as well (free and supervised). Hotel is very child friendly – our 2 bedroom apartment came with bedguards, cot, changing station and babybath, baby monitor, potty, steriliser, toddler seat for the toilet and buggy and all the staff were great with the children. The family block (D block) is a fair walk from the main restaurants/pools so the buggy was needed. A tip if you stay in the family block – there is an exit on the 1st floor which brings you out right by the mini-supermarket which has all the essentials (wipes, nappies, milk, snacks, alcohol!)
The hotel has a good range of restaurants and bars and the buffet dining changed between 2 main restaurants each night and was excellent with a good deal of choice (N.B. Gents are required to wear long trousers to dinner and this is enforced). The kids loved the nightly mini-disco and we all enjoyed the evening entertainment that followed (both the more tranquil piano bar upstairs and the shows in the downstairs bar – Mamma Mia was the family favourite.) It is 5 star luxury and so meal and drinks prices are quite dear but it does have a great position with a lovely manmade beach right in front of it and there are many local bars and shops in easy walking distance which offer cheaper options for food and drink if desired at any point.
There are a number of swimming pools around the hotel; a large pool and toddler pool by the family block, a large pool in Kikoland and 2 large pools in the main hotel area which also has a smaller toddler pool and kids Jacuzzi as well. The main pools are great as they have a wide but shallow ledge round part of it which was great for the children to play in. A couple of the pools were heated to a reasonable swimming temperature. Kids Jacuzzi was at 30 degrees C which the children thought was lovely! Towels are provided.
Getting to the hotel was especially easy. We had a car from Cabrera Medina. All inclusive insurance, free car seats and the pickup is right outside Arrivals. The hotel is an easy 30 min drive from the airport and there’s a free car park.
All in all, an excellent hotel in a lovely location. I’d definitely go back again.

Our seventh stay here in 4 years. The Princesa Yaiza offers a luxurious and relaxing stay at a prime location in Playa Blanca, with its own direct access to the promenade with the best beach Playa Dorada adjacent to it. Comfortable and spacious suites, each with a large balcony and kitchenette, large bathrooms with 2 sinks and all the amenities. Should you want a different pillow or a duvet instead of sheets and blankets, one just asks. The buffet breakfast which you can enjoy at your own big table with white tablecloth, consists of anything you can think of, including an omelette bar, complimentary sparkling wine and a big variety of breads. In spite of this being a big resort with many guests, it never is never crowded. A functional gym with friendly staff. 2 leisure swimming pools, one saltwater and one chlorined water, a jacuzzi and a towel booth, where you can change towels as often as you please. The hotel also has a top-notch cocktailbar, a japanese restaurant and one of the best restaurants in the Canaries Isla de Lobos. This is a place I always dream of returning to.

A very elegant and relaxing 5 star lux hotel in a quiet location close to a golden beach.
We were very impressed by Fabrizia Semenzin when we asked to see a room or suite for our visit to the island of Lanzarote.
She arranged a choice of rooms and suites and explained their facilities and the direction of each one to enjoy both the superb views and where the sun would be both during the mornings and afternoons. Probably the best service we've had in recent years. We've been to a number of hotels over the last year; this was one of the best and most helpful service we have received. We will be booking a visit for our next trip. Thank you, Fabrizia, I hope the hotel appreciates your dedication to an extremely important feature of promoting this hotel.
