Really disappointed with this hotel We’ve visited the island many times and always go 4 star. Looking at the pictures and hearing the reviews we were excited to visit We are currently at the hotel in the middle of a 2 week stay Rooms- our room was very basic. The showers is a wooden board on the floor with cracks on it. The furniture is basic and the pillows are small and lumpy. The fridge isn’t cold and isn’t filled up. This is something I’m used to at a 4* resort Food- get used to pizza Every day is the same 2-3 meats. 2 types of fish and a paella Then it’s pizza and chips Bar- they have a low selection of drinks and many of them are “self service” in small cups The all inclusive bar stops at 11am and you then have to pay. The entertainment is poor and starts at 10:30pm Entertainment- The theatre bar had jugglers in the first 4 days of our stay The terrace bar has a singer most nights Overall a 3 star hotel with a basic spa Really disappointed would recommend for the price going to the H10 resorts or Secrets if adults only

Fantastic hotel. Food was marvellous, facilities surpassed out expectations and each member of staff was nicer and more helpful than the next.. This hotel went the extra mile to ensure we had a great time and the children were treated like royalty. We're going back!

Spent two weeks here. Opted for the non Royal Aristocracy package, just stayed with the nose in the mud package instead. What my wife and I wanted was two weeks to chill by the pool and to eat and drink with maybe a couple of day trips. We got what we wanted. Food: Never cold. Breakfast has everything you'd want; full English, waffles, fruits. It does get a bit busy and the toast stations do turn into a competitive sport at times, but it is a minor inconvenience. Lunch and dinner has enough to go round. Meats, veg, chips, potatoes, meat in sauce, soups (sometimes a let down), fresh bread, salads, pasta salads, some paella-esque dishes and I could go on. A lot to choose from and you won't be let down. However, we booked the Fusion Restaurant for the Chinese night. They tried hard, but we weren't impressed, but we noted that others loved it. But! Even if you are on the 2nd class person package and you ask for wine, you'll get a full bottle delivered. I was brought a cheeky Tempranillo 13% and was acceptable.  Drinks: More than enough choice except not many cocktails, but to us that wasn't a big deal. The spirits will do the intended job if you so wish. The Pepsi is scush type and isnt always that good, but hey ho. Beer is ok. Wines are ok but am a red wine snob so not so good, but the red wasnt cold! Like some places have. Pool: Yes, I had to get up with the pool lark and sit in my place, but the SOS guys are on the look out for any unsuspecting pre-9AM wanderers. Mostly, your towels will go if you leave them. Pool is not cold, save to say that you get the momentary "Brrr", but that comes and goes within a moment. It does get a bit busy with ball games at times, but no different than any hotel. If you are late enough in the morning to miss out on a straw parasol position, but early enough for there to be spare material parasols, ask the SOS guys to get you one. A lot of times, there is music playing at pools 1&2 but not at the adult pool. The music can vary, from Saxophone Malaise, to Violin Malaise, Hard House Techno, to Ibiza Chill Out. The saxophone music was played most of the time, so I had a major whinge and didnt hear it for the remainder of the holiday. I do accept your thanks for this. Only floats which have holes in such as blow up doughnuts, blow up tires, flamingo floats etc are allowed Activities: The activity staff work hard to create things for the guests. Mainly "Crazy Game", water polo, adult and kid Olympics, foam party, on-pool yoga, sports games and more. It might be possible to get a little sick of the hotel dances, but that's a personal thing. What I will say is that they call out the activities on a microphone by way of "OK, people, wake up! We have crazy game now. Come on people, we dont stop". Preferable to them coming round and badgering you, which they do in some hotels. Rooms: Remember that we had proletariat package. Spacious room. No issues. Nice and seemingly clean, although The Hotel Inspector might notice the odd bump and bruise. The beds were made daily and towels changed unless you had the no mole star sign on your door. Had a nice view of the pool and the sea, and didnt pay extra for it. Got a little lucky.  Staff: Work very hard. Didnt notice one grumpy one. Bari and Desiree are lovely. It seems all of the staff mirror your attitude towards them. Fine, in my opinion. I did use my 'pijin' Spanish with them, but didnt seem to make any real difference towards their attitude to you as they were so nice anyway. Rami is an absolute legend. You'll know who I mean. Entertainment: Mixed. We have stayed in hotels which use Med Ents Ltd for this so we have been a bit spoilt and we tried not to judge the entertainment against this. However, Soul Diva on a Friday night is AMAZING, Solista Kamel on a Wednesday is great, Ricky Soul Man on a Saturday is brill, Desiree is wonderful, Afro Soul were ace. Others, not so much.  Trips: Dont bother with Fuertaventura trip (cheese farm, aloe vera farm et al), but if you do, play Lawrence of Arabia theme whilst walking on the dunes as it does make a difference. A long day being taken to places with cost the organiser absolutely nothing. It costs you more as the very unacceptable lunch (Starter - veg and lentil soup/tuna and pineapple warm salad. Main - Braised beef and potatoes in sauce/White fish and potatoes. Dessert - Primary school pot of ice cream). We were seated with 2 Spanish people who didnt speak any English and asked to be moved elsewhere but there was no room and two Belgian people who spoke a little English as we spoke a little French. We had a laugh, however. Just don't go on this trip as it was a very long and wasted day. Do, however, go to Rancho Texas, a worthwhile day. I got winged in the face by an eagle at the bird display, which was unexpected. But that aside, a great day.  Reception: The phone in your room is for display purposes only. We had two minor things we needed, both were supplied promptly and without complaint. Premier League Football on the TV: Don't be told they don't have it, as I was. It is on DANZ channel which they do have. AOB: We didn't really do much as we couldn't be bothered and were happy just to chill by the pool. Nothing went wrong, so I can't comment on that. Would we go again? Very possibly. If you are wondering whether to book this place, do so. You wont want for anything. I'm not even sure what more you would want that the peasant package doesn't bring you.

What is the problem with some people moaning about sunbeds? We go to the pool at 10:00am never an issue. I think some people see 1 cracked tile and take a picture to show others the tile, or moan about nothing to do. You are on volcanic island with very little else apart from hotels. If you want five star luxury go to Dubai and spent 10,000. This hotel lift up to our expectations the food is excellent staff excellent everything is perfect for us. We are real people, not stuck up like some who expect a chocolate on their pillows. Get a life this hotel is awesome and i have stayed at many. Super in every way, If you are thinking of booking this hotel just do it you will not be disappointed the place is absolutely enormous has several restaurants and pools and is very children friendly

We visited on July 10th for a week. I emailed the hotel before arriving and got exactly what we asked for, including bookings for the Asian and Mexican restaurant. This was our second visit so we did know what to expect. We went Royal Elite and to be honest I think this makes all the difference, even for me and I don't drink. We enjoyed the lounges with no queues for drinks, it was very busy at the pool bar in the evenings, where the outside entertainment was. We thought the food was absolutely fine, plenty of choice, only found one dish stone cold and that was from the Italian section, I guess I could have warmed it up in a microwave but I had already put salad on my plate before I realised it was cold. No big deal, I just didn't eat it, I certainly didn't go hungry. At any time of the day there was food available, either from the Royal Elite lounges, the snack bar or the restaurants. I came back a good few pounds heavier than I went. The main problem we found, which would probably stop me returning, is the sunbed situation. If we wanted to go around the pool, one of us would have to sit there from about 8am as if you left it any later you simply would not get a bed. I hated having to do this, but the alternative was that you would not get anywhere to sit. I totally realise this is the same at many hotels and I won't be going to them either at a busy time of year. On days that we had been out, to the market, or exploring, you absolutely had no chance of getting a few beds around any of the pools. People left their towels on for hours and hours without using the beds, which I absolutely could not do. The trick was for people to wait until 9am then all go to breakfast, which I don't have a problem with if they return after but when it comes to lunchtime and they still haven't used the beds then that is a problem. We still had a really lovely holiday but I just don't want sunbed wars on holiday.

Dear JSpac, Thank you very much for sharing your impressions of your second time at the hotel with us and for your kind words. Regarding the Sunbeds, please believe us when we tell you that it is impossible for us to get it right when the guests themselves do not help us to comply with the policy. We are trying to solve this issue day by day in the best possible way and we hope to see you again in our establishment in the future. Best Regards, The management

We enjoyed our stay overall and the staff are pleasant and hard working. We upgraded to Royal Elite, I probably wouldn’t stay here without upgrading. The Royal Elite breakfast and evening meal are a much better experience than the free for all buffet, which is chaos most of the time. You have to have lunch in the normal buffet and it’s not a pleasant experience when the hotel is busy. The food overall is ok but very repetitive. Our room was nice but the linen doesn’t get changed and the turn down service only happened 3 times in a week. The turn down service is basically a chocolate and a bottle of water. If you want an umbrella for the sun lounger, you have to join the saddos that get up stupidly early to claim one and sit there until after 9am. Towels don’t get removed after 9am. The pool area is ok. We mainly stayed in the adults only area, and albeit a bit tired, with a lack of umbrellas, it was ok. You can book once a week for either Chinese or Mexican. We chose Chinese and really enjoyed it. The restaurant appeared to be half empty most nights but you’re not allowed to book more than once. The location is a bit isolated. Playa Blanca is just over 1.5 miles away. Papagayo beaches are within walking distance, between 15-40 mins away depending on which beach you visit. They’re beautiful beaches but have no facilities. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff are pleasant but the hotel is a bit tired. Royal Elite brings it up to a reasonably good level but without the upgrade it’s average.

We are still here (leaving very early tomorrow) and can’t go back to our room at 11pm as it’s directly underneath the nightly very loud singer/DJ that goes on until 1130/12 above our room. Worst still is that people will remain there until 2am getting drunk and singing and shouting. We can hear what they are saying from our room. I begged reception to move us after the first night, because at 130am my little boy was crying as it was so noisy, and the manager said no (even though the lady in reception said it might be possible to pack and then have our items in reception until a room was cleaned). We had requested a quiet room twice, through our holiday company and with the hotel, and the comment was that our room was quiet in winter. We’ve had the most horrendous time and can’t wait to go home to sleep. We have bought ear buds but they don’t block out the music and shouting. We love Lanzarote and have stayed at the Vulcan and Yaiza both which are fantastic. We wanted somewhere more family friendly but the noise is insane. We just wanted to go to bed at 1030, I didn’t think that was too much to ask.

Dear TIDTraveller, We deeply regret the experience you had during your holiday. We regret that our entertainment programme has prevented you from resting as you would have wished. We would like to inform you that as you have not told us the dates, we do not know in which part of these months this has happened to you, but we would like to make it clear that this Management never says no to a room change unless it is not possible due to high occupancy and we always try with our security or if necessary with the police, to solve the cases of noise caused by the guests themselves. Having said that, please accept our apologies if we have not been able to solve your problems during your stay. Yours sincerely, The Management

The hotel is big but very clean. My room was quite big with good quality furniture and a comfortable bed. I only used the main buffet/ Italian restaurant. The choice and quality of the food was mixed but I never had to queue and wine, water and soft drinks are on tap. Not all the bars advertised were open and as a solo traveller I was disappointed there was no waiter service in the 2 bars I used. The bar staff reduced the queues quickly, however. Disappointedly the all-inclusive bar service finished at 23.00. I had a good 4-night holiday but will probably not return.

Went to this hotel a few years ago and decided to visit again as we had previously enjoyed our stay. Just prior to going, I read some reviews and I had that sinking feeling...... There was some truth in some of them but others were basically untrue. So, to set the record straight... The pools are cold, but only if you have been lying baking in the sun. Don't go in bit by bit as that is torture, just jump in and it is absolutely fine. There are some broken tiles around the pool area, but they aren't too bad at all and if they tried to mend them, there would be complaints that work was going on while people were trying to enjoy their holiday! The food was very good, yes it was 'repetitive', the first week was the same as the second week, but the choice was amazing, so even although there was a repeat, there were still numerous choices, including some distinctly Spanish ones which meant you could try little tasters of things. There were loads of salad platters and on this holiday, I tried 6 different types of fish that I had never had before, including shark. I also tried wild boar, rabbit and goat. The desserts were also amazing. The one area that I do think needs a little attention is the update in the rooms. We were in one of the refurbished rooms which was big but the bathroom was tired and some of the fittings had come loose. The shower power was weak and, depending on what time we showered, we could sometimes end up with cold showers. The air-con wasn't bad but it wasn't great either as even on full power we were still very warm at night. And finally, the balcony was enormous and the view was impressive but it would have been good to have had some loungers there so that we could have enjoyed it. However that will not deter us and we hope to visit again........
