Firstly I’d like to say I contacted reception twice while I was on holiday. I didn’t get a reply. I’ve also contacted the head office. No reply. I felt I had a moral obligation to make them aware of the dangers we faced while in their hotel. This is why I am writing this review. If a person is injured I know I have tried to let people know. Safety The person who designed this hotel does not have experience with energetic pre-schoolers. This hotel is one big hazard. I’m surprised that nobody has been killed yet and that it has passed risk assessment with Jet2. There are seats on the top floor built into the low walls of the landings. My son climbed onto one a couple of times leaning over the top edge. If he had leaned over too far he would have fallen 3 floors and almost certainly killed himself. The first time we did it we didn’t realise this. There are ledges so children can step up and lean over stair banisters. The ones I took pics of are from the reception to the lower ground floor. My heart nearly stopped many times as he stepped up and leaned over. The bannisters also wobbled in places. The white flooring around each pool is really slippy. There is no signage around the back children’s pool to warn of this and honestly, this shouldn’t be the case anyway – I nearly slipped a couple of times when I was walking and children don't care about signs. I saw several children fall and crack their heads just walking to the coconut pool slide. When I spoke to the lifeguard, he told me he didn’t know English (helpful). He spent a lot of time playing football away from the pool with a guy from the entertainment team who apparently didn’t have a lot to do (he didn’t approach us once and just looked miserable) There are lots of open decorative pools in the hotel without safety barriers. I fell really badly and hurt myself walking down the stairs to the pool toilets. There is a line painted on the bottom ‘smaller’ step which made me misjudge. I had a lovely juicy bruise all holiday. The hotel didn’t care. The rooms don’t have deadlocks so my child could easily open our ‘locked’ door by himself. We met people who were barricading their doors with luggage in case their child woke up in the night and thought the main door was the bathroom. Food. Poor. Very samey. We went to the grill one night (Italian not a grill) and I ordered gnocchi which came as pasta. I questioned it and the guy said it was definitely gnocchi. The manager explained that they’d run out of lots of ingredients. There was no salmon in the Japanese restaurant either. The lasagne was worse than a ding meal and the fish/meat was the same in the main restaurant most days. We went to Sabor one night. The Grill man got really mad because he got my order wrong throwing his arms up in the air etc. It was so dark and dingy in there we didn’t like it. We basically wasted our all-inclusive because the food and entertainment were so poor we went out all the time. It’s far nicer to experience the Rubicon Marina and Playa Blanca. An annoying thing was that anyone could get free drinks on an evening if they said they were AI as they didn’t take your room number. I have no proof but the drinks must be watered down. I could drink several Bacardi and cokes in the hotel and not feel a thing. I couldn’t drink any more than two in Playa Blanca. Pool bar was closed one day. Entertainment. If you have children, don’t expect an enthusiastic entertainment team. When we checked in we weren’t told about anything for children. Nobody from the team approached us during our stay. At the end of our holiday we found out there was a disco at 5pm. This is totally pointless in my opinion. Most people are relaxing, getting ready or coming back from the beach at this time. On the last day, we made an effort to be around for 5pm and there was no disco at all. It just shows how that hotel does not want to attract families. They may have the facilities, but not the suitable staff or activities. The only time I saw the entertainment team was when they were hosting activities for adults. When we stayed at the Costa Calera, they were absolutely fantastic in comparison. The evening entertainment for adults was just as bad. They showed all these amazing videos of the acts before they came on and then they were a big disappointment! Room The room was nice but as this was one of the most expensive hotels we priced up in the area so we’d have expected a better view. If you’re a family with small children who have to share a room you can’t have a privilege room. You can only have a room around the kid's pools at the back or you have to pay an extortionate amount for a superior (we would have had to pay the cost of our holiday again). We constantly felt like we were paying a lot for an inferior experience that we couldn’t have had because we have a 4-year-old. No extractor fans. The only English channel was BBC world news. To conclude, the hotel is definitely aimed at adults and unsafe / unfriendly to children and families.

Hotel's Favourite
We arrived at 1030, great check in and told to use the facilities and the preferred lounge. Called at 1130 to say room was ready. Preferred room was great with everything we could wish for. Great toiletries, coffee machine and minibar all replenished each day. Room was kept spotless by Maria. We had a lovely view over main pool and sea. No problem getting sun beds each day by any of the pools. Food in the World Cafe and Sabor was great with plenty of choice daily. Tried the Grill restaurant one evening, but felt rushed and disappointed with menu. Waiting and bar staff excellent with special mention to Reyes and Pedro. Entertainment was good especially the female singer and 3 tenors. Great location, lovely walk to Rubicon Marina to the left and to the right Playa Blanca with bars and restaurants along the way and a beach just outside the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at Dreams and will definitely return.

Great atmosphere and super friendly staff (Anass from the dining team and Sam from the entertainment team) made to feel welcome and relaxed. Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily, with large tv’s and Lor coffee machine at your disposal. Food was amazing with so much choice from a variety of restaurants. Activities and entertainment daily around the well maintained pools. Would definitely recommend for couples and families

Review What a stunning place! I was a bit nervous having booked this holiday 8 months ago, when there were lots amazing reviews. I checked back in over the last 4 weeks and a lot of people were complaining about the evening food. However, I needn’t have been worried! Either the hotel has improved their food choices and standards, based on these reviews, or the negative reviews were too harsh. These are my opinions of our stay… My partner and I stayed for 6 nights, all inclusive. I think this was the perfect duration. I would say minimum 5 nights, max 10 nights is ideal. FOOD The food was highly varied everyday, including various theme nights, like Italian. There was always fresh meat being cooked to order, for both lunch and dinner. Yes, there is some rehashing of yesterday’s veggies and some meats, but this is standard in all hotels of this kind, to avoid masses of food waste. The food was still fresh tasting and presented well. The restaurants were clean and plates & cutlery washed and dried properly (I have experience in other all inclusives, where you have to search for a clean plate). The salad bar was extensive and available on all meal sittings. Plenty of fresh, well cut fruit, bread rolls, sauces and lots of very nice puddings too. I am vegetarian and didn’t struggle to fill my plate with lots of varieties and choice of foods. My partner, who eats meat, said it was very good quality, lots of choice. Including one night where they did doner style kebabs! A fellow holidayer we met out there was vegan, and she said she didn’t struggle at all for choice of food. Ice cream by the pool is also genuinely amazing! There was also a small kids food zone available every day, serving things like spaghetti and tomato based sauce, chips, breaded chicken etc. In summary, I can’t fault the food, nor the amazing staff. The most friendliest and memorable member of staff from the restaurant, was ANASS. Simply made us smile to see him on the desk! And big shout out to ALEJANDRO in the Rendezvous bar! That guy is a legend and works tirelessly! ROOMS We paid extra for a pool view. The room was beautiful. My only complaint is that there are several large pool areas at the hotel, and we were not facing the main one that we spent our time at. We faced the kids pool, which is on the opposite side of the sea facing pool. It’s worth check the aerial view of the hotel and asking which pool you are paying to face. We didn’t use our balcony once because of this, so that was a shame. But the room was large and clean. Comes with a hairdryer and some hangers. Plus a safe. Mini bar was restocked everyday, based on use. All of it formed part of our all inclusive too. There was water, beer, Fanta, chocolate m&m’s and crisps. Also a fabulous L’or coffee maker and complimentary pods to go with! There was also a 65 inch tv, ready to take your Netflix log details! Home from home! ENTERTAINMENT The day time entertainment was fab, something on most hours. What an asset to the team were SAM and ANDREA! They were full of energy, fun ideas, lots of exercise classes, aqua aerobics, archery, shooting, yoga, to name a few! The evening entertainment was reasonable too, although didn’t seem to last long. It’s billed as starting at 9.30pm, but we are fairly sure it starts quite a bit earlier, as it’s finished by around 10pm. A few times a week, the little sports bar is used for Karaoke. This was loads of fun! And once a week, an external team called LANZAROTE POKER come in and run a full poker tournament!! It’s free to enter and there are prizes to be won! It was absolutely brilliant fun- no pressure, no strict atmosphere and the team gave free lessons beforehand! Amazing friendly staff. LOCATION Superbly located between the marina and the beach/shops/ restaurants and bars. You can go out the back of the hotel and you’re on the coast line. 5-10 mins either left or right, brings you to lots of things to see, do and shops to spend in! And the hotel is only 30 mins from the airport, so nice and close. FOR IMPROVEMENT The hotel offers a ‘preferred guest’ option- which is a payable upgrade. I could not work out what the point was. We made friends with lots of people who were preferred (we were not). In the main restaurant, there was a cornered off area for them, and the main difference seemed to be that they had table cloths and we did not! They also have use of an additional pool, which looked beautiful, but didn’t seem to have as much atmosphere as the main pool. They also have use of a special lounge, which had free cava, soft drinks, water and nibbles in. But if you’re all inclusive, this is pointless. The lounge was mostly empty as again, there wasn’t much atmosphere in there (I snuck in with another guest for 20 mins). You’re not allowed to take the drinks etc out, so you’d need to consume in the room- which is separate from the main bar, seating areas and general holiday atmosphere!! Personally I would spend the money upgrading to all inclusive and don’t worry about being a preferred guest. I’d also recommend to the hotel, if they are going to keep the preferred guest segregation, change the name to Premier or Premium! Preferred sounds a bit insulting !! Only a minor point, but there could have been some more music played around the pool area. Lots of music during the Zumba, yoga and aqua classes, but then it goes a bit quiet when they are done! Get an outdoor speaker and keep it on during the opening hours of the pool bar! OVERALL We loved our stay and would defo return, bringing the kids next time. Would like to experience the kids clubs and other bits the hotel has to offer - we didn’t even get around to trying the spa! We had such an enjoyable holiday, lots to do, eat, lovely weather, staff, rooms and amenities (I actually braved the gym 4 times during our stay. Hasn’t prevented the lbs adding on though!). In my opinion, I would recommend this hotel and location to future holiday makers.
