S priateľom sme v tomto útulnom penzióniku strávili prvé dni Nového roka. Veľmi pekné čisté a útulne prostredie.Veľmi milý majiteľ,ktorý bol stále nablízku. Raňajky formou švédsky stolov fantastické, domáce pomazánky, čerstvé palacinky, či lievance, naozaj bolo z čoho vyberať. Večera sa dala tiež doobjednať a naozaj niet čo ľutovať. Domáca strava, každý večer iná polievka, hlavné jedlo a vždy niečo sladké pod zub. Ďakujeme celému personálu za super štart do Nového roka!
By far the best of three penzions we enjoyed in different parts of Slovakia. Michal was super-helpful (if a little bit laid back), and the breakfast was great. We 'splurged' on the chalupka (cottage) and thought it was well worth it. (The prices aren't the cheapest around, but they're still quite reasonable and overall value is outstanding.) It was amazingly warm in all the right ways and the the swing, the lawn, the burbling brook were all very special. Mind you, it is a good few steps down a hill and there's only a very small bathroom, but if you're going for rustic charm, this is what you're looking for. They only serve dinner by special order, so I can't vouch for that, but the penzion across the way with a larger restaurant was very good and had a wonderful patio for eating outdoors.…
we stayed for 3 nights in July 2016 - purpose of the stay was hiking in the Tatras and exploring the area. When we came we were greeted warmly by Michal himself and shown to our room. We were on the top floor, and had a very nice and clean room with windows in the ceiling, which offers a fantastic view of the Tatras and the fields. Beds were a bit hard but comfy. Nice bathroom and shower. Wifi worked perfectly. Breakfast was really nice, a lady comes in the morning and makes pancakes, scrambled eggs, cakes, French toast. There were thinly sliced cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes - all displayed really nicely and not just tossed in a bowl or thrown on a plate. It's not "fancy" stuff just a good solid breakfast with no strange additives. There are also cheeses (also the local smoky cheese), meats, sausages, cereals etc. You can also have dinner there which needs to be ordered in the evening. And try some Slovakian wine also which is actually good - never had that before :-) But most importantly, Michal and the rest of the staff are just very nice and helpful. We had several long talks with Michal and learned a lot about Slovakia, its culture and general life, and especially we learned a lot about the surrounding nature of which he is very knowledgable so don't be afraid to ask for his advice. Among other things we hiked to Green Lake one day (excellent trip, amazing scenery), was caught in some really bad weather up there (thunder storm which flooded the trails and made the trip very challenging) and got completely soaking wet and cold. Michal's mother stayed up until midnight to wash our clothes to make sure everything was ready for us in the morning. Excellent service. We have only good things to say about Michal and his penzion and would LOVE to come back one day for more exploration of this great area. The town of Zdiar is also very nice, offering actually several restaurants (try the pizza restaurant Rustika, not only do they serve really good pizza the place is really cool - can't explain it, you'll have to go see for yourself!), a museum etc.…
I have visited this place several times already. It has beautiful views, very cosy rooms and super cool owner. He was helping us with anything we needed.. so pleased to meet this guy. Otherwise hotel is super clean with lots of tradition cottage style character. Strongly suggested !!!
We came here with my girlfriend in September. We stayed in several places during our travel around Tatras but this was the most beautiful cottage-style B&B we have visited so far. Amazing service and wonderful location. Definitely recommend!!!
I have only good things to tell about this place-rooms were nice, clean and cozy, mountain view, good and kind people working there, good breakfest. You can also ask for wifi pasword, it's not written
We've been in Zdiar not once and every time we stay at Michal family pension. It is situated in the center of Zdiar village and quite close to Strachan ski area (5 minutes walk) and Strednica (20 min. walk or 1 bus stop). If you want more serious skiing – ski-buses go to and fro every 15 minutes to Bachledova. The Pension is beautiful and comfortable; rooms are big enough, the furniture is functional, WC and shower clean and good, quick Internet in the rooms (Wi-Fi), breakfast - plentiful and good, and dinner prepared by professional cook (we were in high season). You can also be served with drinks and appetizers on a veranda with an excellent view. The staff is friendly and helpful. To our opinion - the best vacation place in winter (and we wish to come in summer as well!). Highly recommended!…
Clean cosy rooms, very good bathrooms, friendly staff (a smattering of German will help with communication, unless your Slovakia is up to scratch!) a good buffet breakfast and well located in this lovely small village. Really good value for money, would happily have stayed longer!
