We stayed 6 days at the Vau. The back of the hotel looks over a field that is undeveloped it has sheep grazing on it and it was very pleasant. The rooms are nice but the beds needs to be updated. The mattresses are very uncomfortable. The refrigerator either kept things too warm or froze food. It was a convenient location to base our day trips out of.

The Vau hotel has been recentley refurbished to a high standard.
Our two bedroom appartment was spacious with brand new kitchen and bedroom furniture.
The restaraunt was not very busy but the food was good if a little overpriced.
The bar prices were very reasonable, in fact the beer was cheaper than in most of the bars in the resort.
The beach is a five to ten minute walk away. The staff speak good english and are very friendly. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and you also can use the facilities of the apartment block next door,(same owners).
The hotel and resort in general is quiet and suitable for a relaxing holiday.
If you are looking for night clubs and loud, noisy bars then this is not the place for you!

We visited Portugal for our first time in the middle of October. The weather was a balmy 25° pretty much all week ☀️ we were incredibly pleased with our apartment which was very spacious, had a lovely big balcony and was cleaned every day by very smiley housekeepers. The hotel reception staff were warm and friendly and answered any questions we had helpfully and with a pleasing friendliness. The bar staff were very nice too and whipped up a mean pina colada to sip by the outside pool. The facilities (outdoor, indoor pool, sauna, toilets etc) were all immaculate and we very much enjoyed lounging around the outside pool most afternoons. The prices In the bar were very fair, €4 a beer, €6 cocktails and €5/6 for a cheese toastie with fries (which was plenty!!)
The local shop was a 5min walk away which had a little of everything and the beach was an easy 10min away. We went into Praia do Rocha most nights and it was around a 20min walk and was around €5 in an Uber back to the hotel late at night. Lagos is around €25 in a taxi/Uber and well worth a day out. Alvor is roughly €2 on the bus which stops just outside.
A couple of things were missing from the hotel room such as a mirror in the bedroom, a chopping board in the kitchen but didn’t in anyway affect our holiday. Would liked to have had a double bed but we just pushed the 2 twin beds together (twin beds seem to be pretty standard for the Algarve from what I’ve seen)
Would highly highly recommend this apartment/hotel for anyone after a quite, relaxing área to visit. Would definitely visit again around the same time of the year as it was absolute bliss being one of only around 4/5 people around the pool each day. Couldn’t recommend highly enough as all the staff were brilliant and the accommodation perfect.

When we arrived the receptionist was rude and didn’t tell us any information, other than handing over the key and room number. After a few days and heat we realised the A/C did not work and the fridge did not shut properly.
Neighbours woke us up at 3am thankfully the guy on reception sorted this issue out straight away!
Overall a very tired hotel, which needs a full refurbishment.
A hire car is recommended as the hotel is far from any good quiet beaches and nice restaurants.
The pool gets over crowded and lots of children running around.
The bar staff was pleasant so unsure on the trip advisor reviews.
I would not stay here again!

Just a thankyou to the wonderful friendliest staff who looked after us very well during our recent stay at the Interpass Vau Hotel last weekend. We really enjoyed our stay there, the location, the suite, cleanliness, facilities and friendliness of all of the staff made it special, not forgetting the very good breakfast included, and the staff there in the breakfast room with their smiles and welcomes. I would highly recommend this hotel to all. Looking forward to revisiting you in the future.

We booked the hotel for 8 nights for the three of us and a room for the mother-in-law at the end of October.
The first few days we could hardly sleep at night. When we complained about the noise, we were told that there were three women above us who were loud.
The hotel employee promised to talk to them.
Unfortunately it didn't help, so we complained a second and a third time.
The receptionist then said she couldn't do anything and basically laughed at us. It wasn't because of the language. My husband is Portuguese by birth.
Today when we checked out we found an animal on the floor.
In general we would not recommend this hotel and would not book it.

Fantastic hotel. Friendly staff, helpful.Clean and large installations. Cordial and attentive receptionists. Great room, great coffee. . Excellent hotel. Location near the beach. Perfect. I loved. Not enough to tear compliments to the hotel and staff, I was surprised with a phone call from them when I was already in Brazil. I ordered some equipment to deliver there and had to cancel it. But still the hotel received a letter from the post office and had the kindness of calling to Brazil(after my stay and return to Brazil) informing about the letter received by them. Very kind. I sincerely thank Mrs Iris for the affection to have called to Brazil. I'll definitely be back. It was my fourth time at Praia do Vau and the fourth time at Praia da Rocha.

We're thinking of travelling to this hotel in June 2020 but have seen differing views about the standards of catering and also lots of criticism about it being a French targeted resort.
We're looking for a 'fly and flop' type of holiday with plenty of good walks and access to local bars and restaurants during the day.
Q1 Do the 1 bed apartments have a sea view? - not clear on the Jet2 website
Q2 What is the score with dining options if you book All Inclusive - A la carte restaurants are mentioned in Jet2's info but also buffet - would be good to have some clarification about what they offer?
Q3 I do speak good French but don't want to feel like an outsider whilst on holiday - is this really a big deal?

The food is buffet only. Very nice food but limited choice. You need to walk down to the beach, along a main road to find a couple of restaurant/bars. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with very little access to "nice walks". Sorry this is negative but apart from the lovely beach and the fact we were on honeymoon we really didn't enjoy our stay!
