We only stayed for three nights and dined there each evening (food was excellent) - so did not go elsewhere. There is certainly no other restaurant within walking distance - but looking at the map there are several others... More

We took a cab from Florence, with a short detour to Piazalle Michelangelo for the view. Cost us 69 Euro. There are no buses to Castello di Gabbiano. The nearest bus stop could be Mercatale Val di Pesa, almost 2 KM downhill... More

Not at all. But reservations are essential, because the restaurant is rather small - even with its first floor seating. Maybe in the summer, when outdoor seating is made available, tables may be relatively easier to get even... More
