We chose this accommodation for its proximity to the main street in Noto: a set of steps next to the hostel leads directly into the heart of the city with good access to the Cathedral, other main sights and the bars and restaurants. Particularly when returning after an evening in a restaurant, you need to be fairly fit to use the steps but this is an antidote to the good food that you can find. Bear in mind that this is a hostel, but one in an interesting old building with marble floors and great views over Noto. There is a mix of private accommodation and dormitories with their own bathroom and shower. Our room for two was huge with a comfortable bed; it was clean and well maintained. The reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful with advice on parking and where to visit in the town. Wi-Fi was available in and near the lobby and there was a decent continental breakfast thrown in. You can bring a car and park outside or nearby if you can find a spot: ask reception to find the parking spots. Our only downside was that our Satnav had difficulty locating the entrance from the address. Perhaps a better location indicator would help. But we did get there and can recommend it. Highly recommended providing good value for money. …
This place was a treat :). The baroque pearl of Noto stole my heart, magical town and on the top of that Il Castello was like a cherry on top of birthday cake:). Amazing place with magical, breathtaking view on town. Clean, and huge rooms with lovely and always helpful hosts. Will be returning there on and on.
I stayed at il castello with my friends this week and we stayed in the private room for 3. Our room was perfect with an incredible view!!!! Beds were made every day which was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly and the view from our room was phenomenal. Highly recommended !!
We loved the view from the room, the location. You got stairs to climb to get there (or take the car, of course) . We arrived without reservation and got the last room, huge familyroom for just the 2 of us. Loved it. Excellent value for money
Not speaking much Italian, we did not know from the establishment's name that it is actually a youth hostel. But they do offer double lodgings for couples, with extra, empty beds in the room. Interesting old building with excellent views over the historic center of town. Adequate, basic breakfast, but superb, high ground location and super-helpful desk host. Lots of stairs, elevator not working. Take it for what it is, but we stayed during the town's busiest festival of the year. Difficult to get reservations.
Very helpful and friendly staff - so would recommend just for them - the hotel was a youth hostel so needs some updating if they are going to turn into a Hotel - little things like a shelf in the bathroom, or soap dish in the shower would make a difference. We had fantastic views over the roofs of Noto - quite stunning - very easy to walk down to the centre - but plenty of steps to walk back up at the end of the night - for our stay it was ideal and I will probably be back so that's recommendation enough
we l eft our booked accommodation because we were so disappointed by reality compared to online photo's that we booked last minute at the hostel. Such a friendly hosts and what a location - we got a huge room (with a lot of extra beds...) and access to the rooftop with again a beautiful view. Nice breakfast with a lot of nationalities. Showers are very basic but clean. Airco is working!
I spent in this Hostel three nights, as main location for visit this area. The room is very big with bathroom, clean, comfortable, and quite, there are all comforts as fridge, air conditioning, air drier, tv, also there is an amazing view over the city. Breakfast with typical local food, sweet and salad. The hosters are very kindly and nice. Noto is a beatutiful city, located between Ragusa and Siracusa. Noto Bay, is a beatutiful sea and beach area.
We stayed at this place for two nights in September. Location is brilliant, right in the middle of the city. Our room had access to the huge terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Free parking on the street right at the hotel's door. I should agree to some points in the previous review - room was a bit spartan with Ikea bed and mattress, but the shower was newly renovated and super clean. Let's be fair - if you pay around 50 euros per night with parking and free breakfast in simply best location in town, luxury is nor included. Again, we came there to see Noto, Ragusa and Modica, meaning we came in just to sleep and take a shower. This place has served the purpose 100%. Overall, I can recommend this hotel.
This place has absolutely misleading pictures. The absence of any picture of the bathroom is not by chance. I have uploaded some pics for other people to see it. The real problem is that somewhere this place is advertised as B&B and we fell into this trap. This is NOT a B&B, it is a hostel and it has all the features of the hostels I used to sleep at when I was a teenager on holidays with my friends. You will find several bunk beds next to your double bed (guess why you couldn't see them in the pictures), terrible bathroom without anything, just one towel that has to do it all (not even one more for the hands!), humidity stains on the walls and bad smell. But don't get me wrong, it is quite good as an hostel, just it is an horrible Bed & Breakfast and you should avoid it if that's what you are looking for.…
