There were some bad reviews, but we chose to book anyhow, which we absolutely regretted. Our room was not cleaned at all, so they gave us another one. The new room was made up, but disgustingly dirty: the window could not be closed and there were stains and hair on the sheets of the bed. This hotel is a no go an should absolutely be avoided. We did cancel our room and went to a different place, because we were so disgusted be this hotel. This was our first bad experience in Sicily and know one should have to make the same.

Rooms were clean if a bit basic... small fridge, local (Italian) tv, but no coffee or kettle in room. There is a nice restaurant, with good food, a bar in the lobby that has very good coffees, and a very nice looking pool (empty when I was there) and sitting area around the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free wifi (internet) was very very slow with much of the time not able to connect or have connect many time as it would drop quickly, if you need internet access, may be a problem. As far as things around is just off a main hi-way with a short drive to Catania and a couple of shopping centres, there is a gas station in walking distance, that has a nice selection of goods and a good deli in it....

Friendly staff. The property is dated and in need of some renovation. Big rooms, cavernous hallways, but the climate leads to mold in the bathrooms. Good restaurant that was busy with plenty of locals. Convenient to the airport.

IF you can stand the following then this is the hotel for your: Hearing every single plane that lands in the airport close by The funny smell in the hotel Hearing every time someone walks, closes a door and talks in the corridor Hearing every single thing being said from outside the window Having the lousiest breakfast ever - not even the bread was fresh! And the coffee is bad!!! Never expected that in a country that forms part of Italy. The TV doesn't work well, not sure why it's there The place is just ugly. So old. Where there isn't carpet the floor is sticky. I wouldn't say the place is clean. There are black spots (hopefully not mould, though probably is) on the bathroom ceiling. Honestly, the only advantages are that it is close to the airport and Ikea.
