The Hotel is in a lovely location on a pretty white sand beach perfect for young children. 10 minutes walk to the village which has some lovely restaurants and shops. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The pool was a good size and kept very clean as are all the public areas. The only negative ,there was no menu available in English in the restaurant which prevented us from eating there. We did not have this issue in the village. The room was basic but cleaned every day, the cleaning ladies do a fantastic job. The hotel was quiet during our stay so social distancing wasn’t an issue. We felt the hotel had high standards around COVID regulations, and had good systems in place. The WiFi was ok however had to constantly log on. We had a nice break here and would recommend especially for families with young children especially out of the peak season.…
Nice staff, good access to the beach, general areas really beautiful, close to the city center. Could have some nice are for kids. Great breakfast. Restaurant was good but could have more food options
The good part: - nice location, next to a beach - private parking - clean - nice rooms The bad part: - our room was surrounded by 3 bathrooms, could hear everything from the "neighbours" - the plumbing I think it had really high pressure and it was really loud, some times it made really weird sounds in the night - a wedding was at the restaurant, and in the night they started releasing fireworks, somewhere near our room - the beach next has shallow water - sometimes some music could be heard in the distance - overall not quiet - overpriced, I paid 150 Euros a night to relax not hear the neighbours or that crazy plumbing
The staff at Hotel L’Esagono, San Teodoro were friendly, cheerful and always pleased to help from the moment we arrived to the time we left the hotel. Our room was lovely and the cleaners did a great job. We did ask for a quiet room and it was perfect. The location of the hotel is amazing literally on the beautiful beach. I would recommend the A La Carte restaurant which was fantastic. Our table was located a metre from the beach. There is a 10% discount for hotel residents. Getting out of bed first thing in the morning and walking straight into the sea for a swim in the clear emerald waters is amazing. We were in San Teodoro during the August holidays and the town is amazing in the evening. It closes off to cars and we eat in the restaurants along with all the lovely Italian people. We had no issues with the 10 minute walk into town (uphill for 300 metres, downhill for 200 metres). We were also quite happy being the only english in the hotel, as far as we could see. At least we had lots of opportunities to practice our Italian. There was a local band playing in the bar one night which was great. The information desk on site is very useful with Grazia. It is defintely worth taking the half day boat trip to Tavolara. One thing. I thought it was just the english and germans who were a nightmare at leaving towels on sunbeds then leaving them for hours before returning. The truth is all nationalties are as bad as each other. To be fair the lifeguard did deal with it when asked. …
We arrived late because a delay with our flight. Still, everybody was very helpful to settle us in our room as quickly as possible. Next day we could enjoy the hotel in daytime: The hotel garden is well kept, the beach is near and the pool is clean. Because it was early in the season, the hotel was not very crowded, still the was helpful staff to make everybody as comfortable as possible. Breakfast and dinner where good, quickly but not pushy and friendly. The room was not the most modern, but spotless clean and well equipped, pool area was well maintained. Only small downside was the kids-club what is tucked away in an orchard, ans not very well kept. it can be the pre-season, but I feel there could be done more there.
