Superb dinner, good clean quaint rooms, fantastic quaint atmosphere, great staff and great price. It's not superly modern. But I just loved very much all the art that is on display all around the hotel, in the restaurant but also in the hallways towards the room. The room was not modern but quaint, very clean and we had a great sleep. The bedroom The family running the place really made us feel at home. The breakfast was good. But the dinner was superb and very reasonably priced. The environment around this hotel is just fantastic. The staff can advise on the best - totally amazing - beaches around. Very good memories here. Much recommended.
Because of a thunderstorm with heavy rain we had to leave our tent on the campground and sleep in a hotel. We choosed the Sandalyon Hotel and it turned out to be a good choice! We stayed for four days and enjoyed the excellent food and our cozy room. The staff speaks englisch and is very friendly. I also liked the paintings on the walls, which were carefully chosen.
We have spent one week in the hotel in 2015 September. Globally : good opinion but some points may be improved. Positive points : - kind and helpful staff : they help you as much as they can. For example, bus stops are far from the hotel. So the staff propose to bring you at the nearest bus stop by driving. You need a kitchen knife, they lend it to you. Really nice. - beach at 5 minutes by walking. - price is competitive. Negative points : Why I removed two stars ? I have removed one star because : - breakfast is hardly good enough. 1) Choice has decreased day after day. First days : various fruits jam, nutella, croissants, various fruits, etc.... Last days : no more jam, no more nutella, no more croissants, one fruit... 2) Drinks have a low level of quality : fruit juices are very very chemical. I have removed another star because : - the mattress is too much thin. So it makes a hard feeling for my back. We don't need excellent mattress and the price of the room cannot allow having excellent mattress. In deed, we cannot have everything : good price and a five stars bed. But there, I think it is too hard. If you have no problem with your back and no articulation problems, I think it should be ok. In the contrary case (mine : I have sensitive articulations ), it may be difficult to have a good sleep. With a breakfast a little better (quality and regularity) and a mattress with a better quality, I would put 5 stars.…
Hotel Sandalyon is a very nice family hotel in San Teodoro. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel itself has an atmosphere of culture and art. It is easy to reach from Olbia airport which is about 25 km away. We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed ever minute of it. It is only 200 metres from La Cinta beach so with a short walk (and free parking at the hotel) you have sun, sand and crystal clear water at your disposal. The breakfast buffet contains among others: coffee, fruit juice, bread, cereal, sweet croissants, cheese, ham or salami. At night there is a 4 course dinner and you can choose from meat and fish. The chef uses mostly local Sardinian ingredients and it taste's delicious. And for wine lovers there are some great wines to choose from. Once a week there's live jazz music during dinner. We give five stars and recommend this to everyone who considers travelling to Sardinia.…
I spent two nights (friday and saturday), booking online a double room that I needed just for myself, 50 euros/night with breakfast included in the price. The hotel is in a nice location, at walking distance form the beach. The good points: the room large (actually there was a double bed and another single bed on one side of the room), spotless clean, towels and pillowcases were changed with no need to ask, the staff was kind and professional, parking is free (it may sound strange but actually parking could be a problem in San Teodoro and parking by the beach is restriceted on the beach road and there is a paying parking lot near the beach), thus the free parking and the hotel location can save you the hassle of using the car. Ask for a room at the back or on the sides, as these are shaded by some tall trees, and quiter too. The not so good points: it's a 3 star establishment, showing some wear from the years in the room decor and floors, there is no air conditioning, although the fans in the room were good enough despite being there during a very hot weekend in June. I guess that on a torrid, muggy, humid day they won't be enough, but it's just a guess. The breakfast is nothing special: good coffee and cappuccino, but the croissant was quite tasteless and the rest of the buffet had a wide choice of standard fresh and packaged foods. There is no night bell attendant or clerk at the desk, and the guests all leave the keys in a basket at the entrance. If you don't feel like doing this, then better take the room key with you. No elevator, at least I haven't seen one, and very dark halls/corridors on each floor.…
