Really beautiful accommodation with lots of space, amazing rooms, and very friendly lady managing the check in (Elisa). We had a very pleasant stay here, there is lots to do for small children, with the pool and the garden. We did however have issues that came up during our stay, that all took the owner over 24 plus hours to resolve. If all these issues were resolved in a more professional way, this would be a five star review. Our reservation was booked incorrectly by the residence, so we had to wait three hours to check in, when we arrived at 6pm. The fridge broke after one day, we were given a replacement then next day. The gas stopped working in the flat, was not fixed during our stay. We ran out of toilet paper, we got a new one after asking three times. As we were staying for a week, it’s reasonable to provide more than one roll. Despite staying a week, they do not provide fresh towels or sheets at any point. There is a 20€ a day linen fee but no fresh linen is included in this price.…
The island of Sardina is an amazing place with wonderful views, but I would not recommend this villa, unless you like feeling like you are staying in someone’s house rather than being on a villa holiday that we booked. We compared it to hiring a rental car and having someone from the company sitting in the back seat watching you at all times. To start when we arrived, we had to wait an hour as building works in the villa was not completed. We were asked to pay 100Euro security deposit which wasn’t listed on the booking information. The fridge/freezer was warm, we told the owner he said it was just turned off and we had to wait for it to warm up. This turned out to be broken, which took 2 days to fix causing us to lose over 40Euro worth of food. The Wi-Fi was very intermittent and almost pointless. We were constantly watched by the owner at Residenza Roccarosa from his balcony, or following us about. We had a barbeque, which he inspected. Later that evening he came storming over shouting in Italian, which none of us understood. It turned out our music which you could just hear at the apartments was too loud after he started pointing at the speaker. As I didn’t respond to kindly to the way we were being treated on holiday, the owner got more and more aggressive. From then on, he only glared at us with no interaction other than being watched constantly. The pool turned green 3 days before we were supposed to leave. We weren’t told not to use it and had to find out from other guests. On the second to last day I asked the owner if it could be used yet, and I was told no. When I started to complain asking for a refund due to the treatment and issues we had with Residenza Roccarosa, I was told we can use the pool even though it could make us ill (including my 3 year old daughter) so they didn’t have to refund any money. They then got aggressive towards us, when I insisted on a refund and was told we would not receive our security deposit back. On the final day we were watched by the owner from just outside of the steps to the villa as we were packing for over an hour. The owner did not want to return the deposit even though nothing had been damaged. I would definitely recommend visiting Sardinia just never to this ‘villa holiday’.…
We stayed here for a week. The apartment was ok, no dishwasher and small kitchen. Great views from the terrace and nice pool. The owners are terrible and not hospitable at all. From early am to late pm the owner walks around and watches every move. Whenever you look up, he’s there like he is afraid you’ll do something that is not allowed. Very uncomfortable. They insisted on payment full in cash, only having communicated this the day before. They use the home away website but only to get customers, they do not do the booking via the platform.
We spent 2 weeks with the family in the Residence Roccarosa. The location is great, the sea view is breath-taking. Waking up in front of the beautiful sea of Sardinia made our day each morning. The apartment was very clean and the swimming pool amazing. Highly recommended for families.
This was our 3rd trip to Sardinia and unfortunately it didn't live up to the wonderful experiences we'd enjoyed on other parts of the island. On the plus side, Residence Roccarosa is in a nice, quiet location with views out to the sea. The pool is a good size and the pool area is very nice. However, our apartment (no.6) was a disappointment and was seriously overpriced for what we got. The living area is tiny, the kitchen area is basic and didn't include the facilities promised in the advertising. There was no storage space in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. There was a pleasant outside area with a table, chairs and sofas. The apartment is on the ground floor so was pleasantly cool and on the one occasion we needed to use the air con it worked well. The wifi was terrible and when I asked about it, the owners were quickly defensive saying they provide it for 'free', but actually it's 'included'. They were clearly worried we would ask for a discount, when actually we just wanted the wifi to work. Unfortunately the noise from the guests above was very annoying, particularly at night. When they were just walking around, using the bathroom etc it was so loud it woke us up. Using their shower or flushing their toilet was exceptionally loud due to the waste pipe running down the inside wall of our bedroom! The biggest problem however, was that we couldn't relax due to the attitude of the owners, the endless rules and their disapproving eyes constantly watching. They positioned themselves on their upstairs balcony and stood guard for hours at a time. The rules kept coming - no inflatables in the pool, no balls near the pool - my son was even told off for simply bouncing a ball on the grass! Apparently Marie Terese is a school teacher, and we certainly felt like we were being constantly watched and scolded like naughty children. The local area was exceptionally busy during August. We had to get to the beach by 9am to get a parking space and still walked 30 minutes along the sand to get any sort of decent space. Overall we were disappointed with this particular visit to Sardinia and would not recommend Residence Roccarosa, nor this part of Sardinia.…
