I really can't recommend this hotel. In Summertime they charge very expensive prices (nearly 200 euros per night!), so we expected a nice experience. Well first of all you should expect that the room you have reserved could not be available the day of your arrival despite all the confirmations etc... In fact that's what happened to us after a very long journey, and we had to spend a night in another room (of a lower quality) and then change the day after. Most annoyingly, the tap water in the hotel is not drinkable. Yes you are reading well, it is written in the room that the hotel's water is not drinkable. We went in another hotel in San Teodoro and the tap water there was perfectly drinkable... Go figure! There are almost no TV channels in the room, only some Rai channels, and not even Mediaset Italian channels... Don't bother with CNN or International channels, it's simply not available, and we ask the reception for this, to no avail. Again, in the other San Teodoro hotel, all channels (Italians&Internationals) were available... The breakfast is very limited, only positive point has been the young lady serving us, she was really nice and professional. Another big drawback was the corridors, they are extremely noisy due to the materials used (usually they use carpet in the hotels' corridors in order to reduce noise, but not in that case...), so it's written everywhere in the hotel "keep quiet please", but despite this we were woken up by people returning from parties very late at night... Also we asked the hotel to make some reservations for us as we were arriving very late the first day, but they did not answer our mail, and we just discover on arrival that "they do not make reservation for customers", go figure! They have a single sheet of paper with some restaurants written on it, we tried to reserve with this, but the phone number were not matching the restaurants' names! So we ended up one evening arriving at a restaurant we thought we reserved just to see the amused face of the restaurant's owner who explained us that people keep coming from Stella Marina with reservations he does not have because the phone number on the sheet is of another restaurant. Believe it or not this situation goes on since the start of the summer! We had a problem with the shower as the water was not flushed correctly, we asked the reception to fix this but to no avail, I had to fix it by myself in order to avoid inundating the room... Oh and you have to bring your own shampoo&stuffs because there is nothing in the bathroom, there are just some very small shampoo samples in the smallest shampoo/soap samples I ever saw, completely unusable. Stella Marina is enjoying a good position near San Teodoro's center, it's true you can go by walk there, but the hotel itself has too many drawbacks, it's clearly too basic and has various problems, the quality/price ration in summertime is truly awful. Maybe if you get a 60 euros room in september it could be ok, but the problems will still be there.…
This hotel provides quiet, comfortable rooms and is well located a short distance from the beach and within walking distance of several restaurants. A good breakfast is provided in the pleasant dining room.
We stayed here at the beginning, not yet the high season. Although it‘s on the main road it was very quiet. There are even signs in the corridors asking people to be quiet. It‘s a 5 min walk into town with one or two restaurants nearer. Nicely decorated in a rather personal way. Breakfast was good. If you don‘t need a pool etc highly recommended.
The Stella Marina is just across from the bus station, so if you are coming from Olbia Airport it is so easy. The center is just a 5 minute walk and La Cinta beach is about 10 minutes. The staff spoke English well and helped with all my questions. The room was spacious and clean. I booked 1 night and stayed 5. There is good wifi, a refrigerator, and a balcony. The bathroom was nice with good water pressure. The breakfast had a lot of choices: fresh fruit, cheese, meat ,bread, yogurt, eggs, homemade pastries, and more. There is a beach bus that takes people to Capo Cavallo, Cala Brandichi and Imposto beaches.
we spent our last two nights in sardinia in san teodoro. we chose this hotel for its location and reasonable price. this hotel is nicely located near the town center. it’s within 5 to 10 minutes walk. san teodoro makes a good base for us to visit the famous beaches nearby - la cinta beach and cala brandinchi. the town center is filled with cafe and restaurants. there is a night market too. this is a lovely hotel. room is spacious and nicely decorated. the theme of white and blue in the room is very pleasant. the reception is helpful except for one lady who checked us in (she got impatient with questions). this doesn’t affect our stay though. parking is provided for free and we see this a bonus. car is required for beach hopping.
