Located in the Itria Valley, the Smerarlo Hotel is an oasis of peace and taste. Ideal place for excursions to Brindisi Locorotondo Alberobello. Clean rooms sanitized according to Covid regulations. The kitchen offers fresh dishes of the Apulian tradition. The hotel manager is Vito Rubino. The staff is welcoming, smiling and ready to satisfy the customer's needs. A place that I suggest not only to Italian but also foreign tourists.
I was very sorry to leave this hotel as I had a wonderful 4 night stay here. My double room wasn’t very big, but it was a perfectly adequate size and certainly more than enough for one person, but it had a large balcony, which was my favourite thing about the room. My balcony overlooked the front of the hotel, out over the olive trees. The hotel is in a very peaceful area. I slept very well. The bed was comfortable, although the cover was a bit thin. A nice thick duvet would have been nice. The walls are a little thin and I could hear the people in the room next to me clearly, but luckily they went to sleep at a reasonable time so my sleep wasn’t disturbed. The en suite bathroom included everything you needed apart from a facecloth, so make sure you bring your own. There are plenty of sockets in the room, including ones by the bed, which makes it easier to charge your phone overnight and not have to get out of bed to turn off your alarm if using the alarm on your phone. The room includes a flat screen tv, just change the audio settings to hear programmes in their original language instead of Italian. The hotel has free wifi, which worked well on the whole, but could be a bit dodgy out on the balcony. There is a nice area to sit outside if your room doesn’t have a balcony, and a pool too. The hotel has a bar with a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. The usual continental options were available for breakfast. The bread rolls were a bit hard, but I have found that this is typical for Puglia. I enjoyed the food we had in the evening, and we were always offered second helpings. Evening meals usually consisted of a pasta dish and a meat dish. The way the drinks at the restaurant worked was very good - you bought bottles of wine and/or water and a label with your room number was placed on them so that you could pick them up the following night. I highly recommend the Primitivo. I would definitely stay at this hotel again - the views are stunning - and would certainly recommend to others.…
We often recommend ( and stay here if we need to) when we are overbooked at pugliarental.org A seventies time warp but convenient local place and very good value . The manager Gianni looks like an Italian superman ( nice looking ) and is utterly charming . It has a pool, reasonable breakfasts and an average restaurant/ pizzeria which is frequented by locals and the caribinieri ( take away ) trade .
We were on a 16 day holiday to Italy with Leger Holidays and stayed for four nights at this hotel, from where the coach parked you had a steep gradient to walk up to the hotel or you could use the steep path with handrail. Reception handed out our keys very quickly, a lift to all floors or stairs, my room was on the third floor and my room was absolutely fabulous as a single traveller i was surprised it was very modern, clean had a very colourful bathroom done out in red and black, i had a lovely balcony with great views, you had wind up shutters on the patio doors, i was very pleased. The restaurant was on a lower floor with quite a few steps to go down, you could also get the lift to this lower floor, but one evening we had our evening meal in the Taverna and this was quite a walk through the hotel and negotiating lots of steps, i was told that no lift went to the Taverna, the food was basic, evening meals were a bit hit or miss and if you wanted water with your meal you had to buy it, breakfast was buffet style good choices on offer. They did have entertainment on the first and third night of our stay after our evening meal, a group of young people in traditional costumes showing us the local dancing, they put a lot of effort into the dancing and it was nice to watch.…
Altough our room was not very large it was clean and we had everything we needed. Personal was very friendly. Breakfast the best of our tour trough Puglia. The location was not so easy to be found because it was out of town and our GPS could not find the street. Diner in the restaurant was very good at a reasonable price.
