Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A modern house in a large garden about 500m from the water's edge and 2k from the nearest bus stop (I was travelling by bus). Everything is well-appointed except my bath is not in use - for 'climate change reasons' - but a disappointment for this walker. Lovely breakfast and handy location for the 'Valley Loop' walk.

This is a top class B and B. It is so well kept and always spotlessly clean. Very warm and friendly host. The breakfast is gorgeous too! i would highly recommended for a quiet place to stay on Achill Island.

I've never been let down like this before. We trust this b&b with a reservation online, we exchange email and details about the room, we agree we'll be at B&B after 5 p.m. but when we arrived on Achill's she wasn't there. We wait for her 2 hours, we try to contact her by phone but she didn't answer. We even talked with her neighbours, and finally give up and gone to Keel to look for an accomodation last minute.
It's so unprofessional that I've not enough words to describe it. When we mail her asking for an explanation, she said her pet took ill and left her phone home by mistake.. anyway there was no note on the door like she pretend to do, and sure she didn't even try to mail us or send a text or call to warn us about this emergency (if you're inclined to believe in this excuse).
So, be aware. Like it happened to us, it could happen to you too.

Sinead's warmth and attention to detail cultivates an extraordinary sense of well-being that makes for the perfect holiday experience. Her B&B is a new construction (2008) with modern amenities and a contemporary style in furnishings. Water's Edge is beautifully situated on the northern edge of the island. It is off the beaten track, a great place to relax. Sinead emailed us great directions and the signage made it simple to find her place. We walked to an uncrowded beach and to a historic estate that is now a hostel/pub to use the free internet. And her breakfast is hands down the best I've had in Ireland.

This is a great place, and a great host! Sinead's B&B overlooks (out front|) a lake, the ocean, and mountains. Out back. Klew Bay (ocean again) and more mountains. The rooms are clean and in great shape. Sinead's breakfasts are delicious, her advice and knowledge of the island priceless. We are coming back again!

We booked a 2 night stay to attend the Quest Adventure race on the Island. The house and room was spotless, modern with great views. This is a premium B&B. The host was so helpful, such a warm welcome. Breakfast was superb, a great choice was available and I'd recommend the porridge!. Achill is a beautiful spot, made better by this place.

We stayed here in July 2014. Great experience. Very clean, comfortable room. Excellent cooked breakfast, very well presented and really tasty. I recommend the porridge. It will set you up for the day! Sinead was a great hostess. We look forward to going back again. Take a bow Sinead! Angela and Aengus (Dublin).

I would definately recommend this B&B!
It was clean, modern and very comfortable. Sinead the owner was very welcoming and makes a great breakfast.
I have stayed in various B&B's in Achill and this was by far the best. We had a see view -even in the bathroom! And our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable.
Achill is a great place to visit and I will certainly stay at Water's Edge next time.

I stayed there for only one night in May 2013. The owner is a very nice host. My room was very clean and apparently brand new. Great breakfast. All in all a very nice place to stay for one night or more.
The only "lower" point is the fact that I was expecting a room with a sea view and got a room on the ground floor with a view on the backyard full of rocks and grass and no view at all which was somewhat disappointing.

Thank you for your kind response. It is regrettable that you did not ask for a sea view when booking. We would have done our very best to meet your requirements. However, all our rooms have views of the water and the downstairs bedroom has views of the lake and Nephin Beg range to the East. As with any new house, the grounds and gardens will take time to establish and grow, not helped by the salt air from the ocean at the bottom of the back garden. I hope you choose Achill Island and Water's Edge as a holiday choice into the future.
