Superb hotel, helpful and polite staff, excellent food, elegant rooms surrounded by olive trees. We appreciated the amazing views on Mystras castle on the slopes of Taygetos Mountain. Quiet, relaxing place. Great location for visiting Mystras.
Firstly, the personnel is very kind and helpful, always there to make the guests feel like kings. Secondly, the food in the hotel’s restaurants is absolutely great! The rooms are small houses, beautifully placed and very clean. Four tennis courts, nice gym.
All in all a wonderful hotel, where the location and the restaurant stand out. However 1: During the booking process we were not informed that the indoor pool, Jaccuzzi and spa facilities had been outsourced to another company and therefore its usage was subject to a significant additional charge. Our complaint was handled professionally though and we were in the end allowed to use the Jaccuzzi for an hour per day at no cost. Just be aware of this when making any booking! However 2: The weakest point of this hotel is the bar staff. Not only lack some of them even basic command of the english language, but twice we had to wait for more than 30 minutes to receive our pre-dinner drinks.
We both wanted to visit the ruins and hike in the area but were also looking for a little rest after the rush of Athens, the Mystras Grand Palace was perfect. Only a few years old yet carefully blended into the ancient olive grove on the property and echoing the architecture of Mystras, this is the perfect combination of new and old. The property is set up with little duplex cottages with sitting areas or balconies set among the olive trees. The grounds are very pretty and so peaceful. Comfortable beds, delicious food, and a staff that went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating! They seemed to really care that we were well taken care of and satisfied. We spent two nights here and would have happily added a third. After an excellent breakfast we were the first ones on the ruins and were delighted to come back and cool our feet in the chilly pool just as the tour buses started to roll in at lunchtime. Hiking in the area was spectacular though be warned that an “easy” hike here means a narrow trail with loose rocks hanging over a gorge. No guardrails and very steep drops so not for those who fear heights or have any mobility issues. That said one of the loveliest hikes I have ever done. The resort does offer bikes so you can also pedal around the olive groves or to the town of Mystras but have at least one dinner at the resort as the food was better there than the restaurants in town. Only regret was not trying the spa.…
Stayed here as part of a cycling tour. Our room overlooked the second pool, was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was continental with lots of choices, all delicious. Staff was attentive, the grounds were beautiful, and the resort isn't far from Mystras. Great location and beautiful place to stay.
