We had a wonderful stay at Kymata. As soon as we got off the plane I was contacted by the resort Manager, Antigone, who checked what time we will be arriving. Once we arrived, Antigone informed us that she has upgraded us to a beautiful sea-view villa, which made our day. The villa itself was beautiful - had a lovely rustic feel with contemporary fittings and was immaculately clean. The surroundings were perfect for a pair of city dwellers - so peaceful with stunning views of the ocean. It's a remote area so I would definitely recommend hiring a car, which is the best option for touring the island anyway, as there are so many places to visit on different sides of the island. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, served everyday on our villa veranda. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Antigone in particular was brilliant - she was always on-hand with recommendations for activities and even put us in contact with a company for a boat tour which ended-up being our favourite day of the holiday. Would definitely recommend Kymata, for those looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay on the island.

Nightmare from start to finish. We returned to Kymata after having had a lovely stay two years ago. So much had changed! First we were not properly greeted when we arrived the only person there was the bartender who did not know which villa was ours. When we got to our first villa it had issues. Handles falling or not on doors, doors to the outside not shutting properly and ants in the bed. We had to call the manager ourselves and ask for a new villa. After two hours we got a new villa. We had to move all our belongings across ourselves and received no help. This villa also had issues. The fridge did not work, electrical sockets came out of the wall when pulling out plugs (nearly electrocuting my mum), the fan in one of the rooms looked as if it was about to fall from the ceiling, the sheets and towels were stained, one bedroom had no air conditioning just a tiny fan. But, worst of all we realised as we were going to bed that there were loads of bugs in the beds, ants and others that we don’t know what they were. None of this got fixed at the time. We had to deal with it all ourselves including moving all our food back to our old villa with the working fridge. We left the next morning as we barely slept as the place and beds simply felt disgustingly unclean. The basics were not even met. However, we must say that the cleaning lady was lovely and did offer a bit of help. She explained that the fridge had been turned off. This was not at all clear and we feel that in a 4 star resort it was simply not our job to sort out these basic issues. Don’t go there if you expect any level of attention in your stay or cleanliness.

Great stay in this gorgeous location. The individual villas with their private swimming pool are charming. It is a nice break from our routine. Everything is done for us to completely relax and just enjoy. The breakfast is good and is served directly in your villa in the morning.

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels/resorts in the UK and overseas and what makes Kymata such a fantastic place and a great experience is a combination of factors. The Villas are beautifully designed and well equipped with fantastic views out to sea. If you can't see the amazing sunsets from your villa (you can from some) all you need do is walk a few metres to see the sun set over the Med. The barman who is also the chef is a fantastic cook and everything we ordered was delicious, particularly the Puttanesca! But the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly Antigone, the Resort Manager. We have never in many years of travelling, received such a first class exemplary service. Antigone was incredible and went far beyond the call of duty to make our stay absolutely superb - thank you so much!
