We had 2 weeks here and the staff were so friendly. Nikos makes Irish whiskey to die for! The rooms are a little in need of TLC but get over that and enjoy the welcome. Good breakfasts. You need a car or use taxis for the local facilities. Lovely island.

We would have no hesitation recommending Terra Mare to anyone visiting the island. Nikos made us feel so welcome and looked after every aspect of our stay there. Lovely location, quiet, serene, clean rooms and lovely staff. Nikos personifies everything that is still outstanding about Greek hospitality. Ioannis

very friendly, good food, needs updating but lovely owner (Nicos) will do anything he can to help. I didn't stay here as I was visiting family on the island but I know a few who have & they have never been disappointed. there are a few lovely hotels in Lixouri some all inclusive, but it get's very busy in August... Unbelievable value for money, fantastic very quiet residential uncommercialised location on the edge of the bay in Agios Dimitrios (you do need a car though as Lixouri is a couple of km away). Nikos and his family can do no more to look after you. Room was basic but the gardens and huge clean pool are top drawer. Good unlimited... More

I am glad I ignored my first impression of this place. It was very much out of lixouri town ( a hot half hour cycle ride) and there was nothing to do around and no beach despite being near the water. I thought because it was so quiet there would no atmosphere . HOWEVER after a day of getting used... More

We had a very pleasant 4 nights stay here. Staff is very friendly, facilities are somewhat old but still okay, pool is great (huge). You need a car though to get there and to get anywhere else on the island. Lixouri is a 5 min drive and a very nice little city. Tons of restaurants around the central square. Take... More

I revisited Terra Mare this May because I had an excellent experience there last May. For me it's the best time to visit Greece in general because the weather is great and there are no crowds. The ferries are nearly empty but running mostly regular schedules. I always rent a motorcycle in Athens and ride to places of historical interest... More

We've just spent the most glorious week at the Terra Mare. The end of October is obviously the very end of the season and everywhere all over the island is incredibly quiet including the Terra Mare but we were given a 5* welcome and the most wonderful service by Nicos, the owner and our host. Our room was of a... More

This is our third visit to Terra Mare for very good reason. It represents fantastic value for money but what make this place so special are the owners Nico and Elizabeth and their lovely daughters. They extend the warmest of welcomes and are always eager to please. The hotel has lovely clean rooms with gorgeous views of the lush grounds... More

Nikos and his lovely family create a great atmosphere around the Terra Mare. I stayed for two weeks with my girlfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cephalonia. The hotel is a great base camp; only a 10 minute drive from Lixouri. If you decide to stay at the hotel for a day, you'll have a stunning pool area... More
