Krapi is a peaceful and nice hotel near Lake Tuusulanjärvi and city of Tuusula. Most of buildings are old and historic. Love the atmosphere and service was excellent too. A sauna and a bike included in a room rate (if available). Very relaxing and special.
Hotel Krapi is just one of the amenities at a 100 year old estate. Among amenities are a 18 hole golf course, a "savu sauna" for guests on a lake, summer theatre, concert facilities, conference rooms and last, but not least a beautiful restaurant at the former main building offering delicious traditional foods both a la carte or buffet style meals. I was lucky enough to be able to sample all the delicious fish dishes, soups, home baked breads, and desserts with their own selection of white wines. Te setting is beautiful traditional Finnish estate with traditional furnishings. this is located outside Helsinki, but well worth visiting.
Overnighting turned into a mini vacation as I stepped into my lovely room. Nice running paths and a good sauna wiped all stress away and I slept like a baby. The hotels own pils was perfect and breakfast delicious!
We found this hotel online and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is built in old barn but you could never believe it. It is surrounded with several buildings including the restaurant where the breakfast is also served. Rooms were basic with all necessities, very clean. Sauna was wonderful (you can book it from reception) and staff had paid great attention to detail by providing water and towels and had lit candles for us, it was very nice touch. Breakfast had great selection of items made from scratch, one of the best hotel breakfasts I have seen.
Krapihovi is a great place for meetings. Everything works, staff is friendly and helpful, food is excellent and the meeting rooms in the old small houses are very homey. They also have a lovely garden and the Christmas decorations and lights were beautiful. My room was in the new building, it was quite basic but nice and clean anyway.
This is really a nice place in a picturesque setting. Although close to the main road between two Helsinki suburbs (which provide limited atmosphere) you stay here in a landscape and setting of old farm buildings, which provides you with the Nordic scenic atmosphere visitors are longing for. Take a room with view to the golf course. (Not really a lot of golfers in the hotel by the way.) I would recommend this for summer - terrace and beer garden are nice. And you can borrow a bike and cycle the scenic road through nice grand houses close to the lake Tuusula up towards Ainola house or Jäärvenpä. We also enjoyed the free coffee and tea throughout the full day.
The hotel information on booking.com clearly declares that accommodation with pets is possible. I have seen no remarks about certain rooms limited for that. Still, after the booking I've got a message that I cannot live with my cat in the room I've booked. They suggested to book another one, but I would rather look for another hotel. Unfortunate and frustrating.
I have just stayed here for two nights during a work trip. The hotel has a beautiful location near a golf course. I bet the view of the golf course is excellent when the snow melts. The hotel itself is quiet and and well above average. I am not a fan of hotels where the reception closes in the evening, though. My room was spacious, and I quite liked the way it was furnished. I really like a room with a chair, and here I got two. The room was handicap friendly, this was obvious in the bathroom, where there was a seat in shower e.g. The bed was very comfy. I also liked the mini bar with room for my own drinks too. I did not try the sauna, but my colleagues did. They were all very satisfied! We had to cross the garden to get breakfast. This was no problem when the weather was fine, but in rain and snow I do not think it will be quite so good. …
I just loved the food in this hotel, homemade, local food of good quality, presented in a delicious way. I especially appreciated the evening buffet, which were excellent, but also our 3 course lunches. What impressed me most were the speed & service. Having 3 dishes for lunch when being on a conference might some times be really stressful as people want to check their e-mails and do some other stuff during lunch hours, but the food serving takes too much of the time. This hotel was really efficient, one of the best I have seen. They also served me some excellent vegetarian meals. The conference rooms were not of the best I have seen, except for Aitta (one of the small meetingrooms), which had an excellent atmosphere. The main meeting room was OK, maybe a bit old fashioned, also in regard to equipment, but with daylight and also some nice breakout rooms which we appreciated very much. The hotel rooms were spacious, quite OK, with comfortable beds. In general I would say that this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so it is absolutely not a hotel to choose for a Helsinki tourist visit, but on the other hand perfect for a conference if you want to keep the participants together in the hotel at evening hours.…
Stayed 3 nights. Friendly helpfull staff. Free use of bikes for a nice cycle around the lake. Choice of restaurants on site however either fast food (average burgers and so on) or a nice but expensive buffet. Good option if you want to close to the airport but not actually in the middle of Helsinki.
