It is a nice and classic hotel with public n private bath. It is a good opportunity to relieve any muscle sore from the bicycle ride. Right in front of the port for ferry to Onomichi. A chill common room but with old age charm in general. Around seven staff came to make bed for guests (with the bedding inside the wall cupboard), which was a surprise for me.

Great accommodation to be in, especially when you are exploring the Shimanami Kaido by bicycle. And what better to have a good soak in the onsen and have a hearty kaiseki for dinner. Try not to get a room at the top room just beside the onsen, can be quite noisy with guest visiting the onsen. They have 2 onsen, one on the top floor and the other is on the ground floor and they swipe the usage between (male and female) every half a day, so guest can enjoy both baths.

We stayed in one of the Japanese style rooms and it was great! Beautiful views of the water. Baths in the hotel were perfect after a day of cycling. Hotel staff looked after our bikes for the night. The breakfast was varied and delicious. While the hotel overall is a little dated, our room, the restaurant and the baths were great. Good value too!
