We stayed in a private twin as part of the Kiwi Experience. This place is at the edge of the lake away from town along the lake and takes about 15 mins to walk there. There's no amenities right beside this place. It's a quiet spot with a mixture of campers and backpackers. It's communal kitchen is disappointingly small but...

I stayed in a glamping tent (a big fancy tent with 4 beds inside) and it was great! The bed was clean and very comfy. The rain was very noisy at night but don't worry it's not like camping- I was still very warm and dry thanks to the blankets!! The wifi costs around $2NZD and was still very slow...

The staff is really friendly and helpful. The facilities are excellent and modern, and the bed in the glamping tent was good. Location is great as well - right at the lake and between the village and the walking route to the observatory.

Very nice staff and well organized place right at the lake! Definitely recommendable! Moreover, it was very good value for money! The only kind of annoying thing was that they charge to use the wifi...

The location of this place is pretty good as Tekapo Springs & the start of Mount John track are nearby. Also, it has good view of the lake - walk out and you're at the lakeside. It's about a couple of minutes drive to the town center so it's all good. We booked beds in a 4-bed dorm room during...

My partner and I stayed here at the end of trip around New Zealand. We stayed in the private cabins out the back and it was in the perfect location; a lovely place to relax with brilliant views. The room was small, but this is all we needed, we were out and about all day simply sleeping here. The only...

This accomodation has a really good spot next to the lake and it is not far to walk up Mount John or go to the hotsprings. The rooms are very small for four backpackers and not a lot of kitchengear in the kitchen to cook with.

The rooms are small, you're quite cramped and that's never fun when you're sleeping in a room with strangers. The doors slam so loudly that it feels like you're in a war zone when mass amounts of people are checking in/out. The walls are very thin too so you'll hear every step or voice in the hall. Check in was...

We stayed for 2 nights and were glad to be leaving after we saw the state of the kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were disgusting, incredibly dirty and messy. The hostel also quotes free wifi, but when you arrive you have to pay for the internet. The only positive is the view. Lake Tekapo is beautiful.

“If you choose a dorm room facing the lake, you also face onto the communal BBQ area (I'm glad we didn't get this room). The rooms which don't face the lake are more private. Choose a dorm FAR from the squeaky slamming doors which lead from the bedrooms corridor to the living areas.”
