Staying here was a highlight of the time we spent in Argentina. The hosts were extremely kind and went out of their way to make our stay more than excellent. I would go back without hesitation and stay longer.
Really enjoyed our time here! We stayed here 3 nights, and found it to be a fun, comfortable, welcoming stay! Our room was a good size, nice bathroom, and great AC. This is a small property, and very well maintained. There is even a little wine cellar where you can sit and enjoy a bottle. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is pretty basic but they do offer to cook you scrambled eggs each morning. They are also very helpful in scheduling activities and pointing out great places to eat and drink in Chacras. We weren't sure whether or not to stay in downtown Mendoza or Chacras de Coria, but we really enjoyed Chacras! Cute little community with plenty of places to eat, drink, and walk around. One note...we arrived to the property about 8a. Even though our room was available, they did charge a $25 early check-in fee, even after we said we didn't need to eat breakfast and just wanted to take a nap. We were sleepy enough that $25 didn't really matter, but just FYI if you are planning to check in early.…
This hotel is run by a family and has a lot of charm. The rooms are not big but clean. The wine selection is nice and their Asado dinner is very good. Everyone who works there is so welcoming, friendly and eager to please. I like supporting a family business and seeing them work hard to have a successful hotel and help people enjoy their vacations. The hotel is in a great neighborhood where you can walk everywhere and venture out to coffee shops and restaurants. Recommendation for the hotel: Put screens on the windows so that people can sleep with the windows open and not have to turn on the AC.
The rooms are more rustic than upscale, and on the small side, but the gathering areas outside more than made up for it. The pool was cold and clean, and my friend said her massage at the spa was great. Everything was super clean, with towels replaced daily. The breakfast was lovingly made by Deborah or Mauricio, the brother and sister running the posada. One of them was always available to give great advice on things to do, or restaurants to visit. The small town with decent restaurants is an easy 10 minute walk away. They offer a full Argentinian barbecue, with numerous meats and vegetables, with homemade sauces and dessert, including wine for $40 USD per person. We had so much fun and were stuffed with fabulous food when we finally "rolled" back to our room at midnight. If you stay here more than one night, you MUST enjoy their barbecue!…
The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The guys at the front desk were very helpful whether we needed a suggestion on where to eat/drink, a bottle of water, extra pillows or blankets etc...The breakfast served every morning was great, breads, cereals, yogurt, eggs made the way you like, juice coffee etc.. We would definitely go back to Posada El Encuentro
