I have stayed all around the world in some great locations but La Masia is one of the best places I have ever been. Alejandro the owner is a great host & made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble & it felt like you were being welcomed into his own home. All the other staff were also very friendly & helpful The room was on the small side but it was & clean well decorated. I would highly recommend La Masia & I hope that one day I will be able to return Simon
Initially we were a little underwhelmed by our room and did question if we should stay or move on, our room was upstairs on the smaller side with compact shower room. We did stay and were glad we did. La Masia is different to an anonymous hotel, the staff were really personable and friendly. As well as 2 dogs and a cat that live outside. As has been mentioned it can be difficult to find for the first time and our taxi driver struggled, the walls were yellow but there was no sign for the hotel. it is located on Longone , this is a treelined gravel/stone road that is dusty in drier weather. According to google maps Longone is between paved roads of Viamonte and Dr Edmundo Correas, it is represented not being passable between the 2 roads, but is it possible to drive between Viamonte and Dr Edmundo Correas. The breakfast was simple but delicious with eggs cooked to order. We didn’t use the pool as the weather wasn’t fabulous but I’d imagine its great to unwind around it when the sun is shining. One evening Alejandro organised an asado for us with other guests, it was possibly the most fabulous evening Ive had at any hotel anywhere, from the bbq meats to red wines and great company. We did travel into Mendoza for the day but we were glad we choose to stay in Chacras de Coria, the small town is very charming and the area is quieter and more relaxed. It is possible to use the local buses to travel about, the 700 series buses stop close to the intersection of Longone and Viamonte we found them clean reliable and easy to use, the only caveat is the need to purchase a prepaid card (from small newsagent/mini mart type shops). With a little Spanish we found the local people really helpful and many went out of their way to help when we asked for help or directions. It is possible to walk into Chacras and takes about 30 mins +, perhaps take a taxi back. If you want a fake “have a nice day” experience from a hotel then you wont find it here. If you want an honest to goodness care that your trip is going well in a tranquil setting you’ll find that here from Alejandro and the team. …
From the minute of booking at La Masia some months ago, Alejandro couldn’t have been more helpful. We were visiting as part of our honeymoon trip and he was kind enough to send photos of each of the rooms so that I could choose which to stay in. When we arrived, it had been remembered that we were celebrating and our room had been made up to reflect and we were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly. The grounds are so peaceful and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We also had additional hosts in the form of Lola and Able the dogs and a cat with no name, all of which loved to make you feel at home with a little cuddle. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, drinks were plentiful and the food we were served on one of the evenings, having not given any advance warning of requiring evening food, was top notch. I’d have no hesitation in booking here again if ever we had the good fortune of visiting Mendoza.…
Alejandro is a great welcoming guy. When taking our flight from Buenos Aires for our first days of holiday he already texted us to ask if we needed any additional support. This little gem is a little hard to find, so make sure to have your direction downloaded in your maps to show the cab driver. When arriving at the Longone road and the door opened, we felt like stepping in to a little oase of quiet and peace...so many birds and green in a lush garden. A great place to start holiday. What also helped is that Ale has great wines by the bottle or per glass which he serves at the deliciously cold pool. And he does a great job in serving breakfast (also does lunch and diner on request). Nice and comfortable beds and good bathrooms. In the vicinity of the place, in 2 km walking distance, you can find great wineries and restaurants in Chacras town to find a good bite. A great recommendation is De los Pajaros, for great steak.…
We stayed three night in La Masia April 2019. Hotel is very beautiful, beds are confortable and host Alejandro speaks good english and he is doing everything that you would enjoy your stay. Alejandro is cooperating with a english-speaking guide Sandro, who arranged us horse riding, visit to one of the best wineries in the area and he also took us to road trip to mountains. With Alejandro's and Sandro's help we could get maxium experience of Mendoza in relative short time.
