Hotels in guadeloupe is generally quite expensive and we find this hotel very good value for money (Eur 120 per night including breafast for the three of us). We stayed in the salako building. The room is quite old and the aircondition drips water. Evening entertainment was boring and loud . BUT, the location was really good. Hotel has its own beach with fine white sand. We did not need to drive to other places. there was also a short cut along the beach to a ferry stop (less than 10 minutes walk) that can get you to the super nice small island ilet du gosier. Sea view from our balcony was very nice. The restaurant where breakfast is served is right by the sea - always feels so good to start the day with nice views. We ate buffet dinner there once which was good. also tried the a la carte restaurant on site which was not good at all. Within very short walk there are other nice options for dinner. Remember this is a low key 3 star hotel - you get what you pay for - the beach and the view made up for the old room facilities.

Everyone was helpful and polite. If you are handicapped, be aware that you have to carry your luggage up a long winding driveway which was closed to all but deliveries. The breakfasts are excellent with many choices. Across from the hotel are a number of excellent restaurants. If you are coming on a holiday, reserve your table at the hotel in advance--we did not do that for Christmas Day, not being aware.

Dear Dena l, thank you so much for your stay at Karibea and for sharing your experience. Glad you enjoyed our hotel: closed to all services like casino and restaurants; our good breakfast and all its local choice; our private beach and its magnificient palm trees. We are sorry you did not try our restaurant in front of the sea but may be next time for other wonderful holidays at Karibea. To see you again, Emma

A rather older location but in a good area. Nice beach, friendly staff that spoke more English than I spoke French. Stayed here on two occasions and would stay here again. Nothing fancy but certainly a nice little place

Walkable to restaurants and beach, clean large room, private beach but also large clean pool, open all hours. Included fine breakfast, coffee in the room. Nice balcony. Tipped the cleaners, but they shorted us on towels and pillows!

The Karibea Beach hotel is beautifully positioned and has a lively beach adjacent. The breakfasts were excellent though it was a battle every morning to try to persuade the staff to produce a cup of decaf coffee! The room had superb views across the bay and was ample size. The main problem was the bathroom. Although cleaned every day it never felt or smelt as if it has been touched at all! There was definite unwholesome smell in there all the time and this was disappointing and off putting. Also it has to be said that there is a lack of provision for getting snacks during the day. The lunch and evening meals were expensive so we went out into surrounding area for food each night. It would have been useful to be able to get a baguette or cake somewhere on the site however. Beautiful position and beach but.......
