The Dell at Abernethy is a gem hiding away in the Abernethy Forest, a stunning location to explore and relax, Polly, Ross and the team really make you feel at home, the food is amazing (everyone should book at least one meal there during their stay...its delicious!), the accommodation is spotless and thoughtfully set out, the furnishings are pure luxury and the kitchen well stocked with sharp knives (a rarity compared to other places). We can't wait to go back.

Just back from celebrating my 50th birthday up at the Dell. We hired 4 of their cottages, West, South, East and Little Dell as there were 18 of us. All of the cottages were delightful. We could have done with the twin beds in South Dell being pushed together, but other than that, our stay was a real delight. We opted for pizzas in the tipi on Friday night, which were excellent quality and value and then hired the tipi for our party on Saturday. Our weekend was definitely helped by the weather, which was simply stunning, the peace and tranquility are second to none. The forest is stunning - we had a fab weekend of running, hiking, biking, eating and drinking ... didn't want to leave!

My husband and I recently stayed here to witness one of my oldest and best friends get married to her gorgeous fiancé in nearby Loch Garten. We were lucky to be invited to such an intimate and special day and get to all stay together as close friends and family in this beautiful cottage in the middle of nowhere. The house is a beautiful tardis that keeps on going and keeps on giving! It’s a perfect example of a chocolate box cottage, the decor is stunning and it just oozes warmth, charm and character. We were fortunate enough to stay in one of the larger rooms in the main building with spectacular views across rolling countryside and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever stayed in in our lives!! Surrounding Nethy bridge has some fabulous forests and woodlands to explore and the town is only a short walk away which has all the amenities you should need. We stayed for 3 nights in total with the wedding being on the Sunday and really lucked out with the weather in the middle of storm babet instead a very much welcome change of blue skies and glorious sunshine. Huge thanks to Ross, Polly and their team for accommodating us and putting on a wonderful evening meal and hosting a fantastic drinks reception in their amazing tipi! We absolutely loved every minute and will be back next year to visit the Scottish highlands more extensively!

Just returned from a few nights break here and would highly recommend. Beautiful location, a real treat for the senses and the cottage (East Dell) was cosy and welcoming with lots of lovely little touches, like homemade brownies on arrival, treats for the dog, a turntable with a few classic albums to play. I loved sitting in my bed in the morning and watching the little birds eating from the feeder placed just outside the bedroom window. My only disappointment was that I didn’t get the chance to try anything from the Dell grocer as the food looked amazing ! Next time…

We had a lovely weekend and were blessed with good weather. West Dell cottage was comfortable ( so soft beds - mmmm), warm and cosy. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows at the fire pit, played board games and explored the local area. We treated ourselves to the wildlife safari and had great fun. Yummy food from the Deli too. Hosts were so friendly. Thoroughly recommend this.

I would highly recommend The Dell where we spent a wonderful weekend with a group of women and we had hired all the cottages for 28 of us. The accommodation was so beautiful with everything you need for self catering. The food provided by the Dell grocer was amazing all locally sourced and the service was 10/10. It was the perfect place for the activities we wanted to do from cold water therapy dips in the River Spey, ice baths in the forest to breath work and meditation in the tipi tent.

West Dell cottage was warm and beautifully comfortable for 2 families to enjoy being inside and outside together. The windows overlook the lawn and play area and the boys very much enjoyed exploring, trampolining and using the zip line. Everything was clean, organised and designed with guests in mind. The owners were thoughtful (brining us some eggs for breakfast) and helpful (when children went hiding).

Highly recommend, I will definitely look to go back again and soon.

What a wonderful place! The accommodation is immaculately and trendily maintained, and the gardens are an absolute dream. Extremely quiet with the sound of nature drifting lazily through the window. The grocer service is also a lovely addition and you have to get to yoga in the tipi of you can. If you can convince yourself to leave, the trails through the forest are fantastic, you can cycle along the Speyside way to KJ's for cake or just wonder in to the village for the lovely deli or the cafe. For the more adventurous, cycle or walk to the Ryvoan bothy along the pass from your door step or its only 20 mins to Aviemore and Glenmore areas for more adventures. Thank you so much to Polly and Ross for having us.

We rented two cottages (East Dell and little Dell) for 3 nights in Feb 2022 with family of all ages and 2 dogs, and we had the most lovely break. Polly was very helpful getting in touch prior to our arrival and was there to greet us and help with our bags to the cottage (which was tricky in thick snow!). The setting was beautiful (woodland walks right on the doorstep) and the accommodation was very stylish, cosy and homely with everything we needed. Would also highly recommend ordering from the Dell grocer in advance - in particular the lasagne was delicious! Thank you again for a lovely stay.

………you are in for a real surprise!
3 years ago my uni friends (of 44 years) and I booked South Dell to spend a few days together for our biannual meet up. Unfortunately, the pandemic delayed our visit but eventually we were able to enjoy the tranquility and comfort of this little treasure in the woods.
Polly was on hand to meet us, there were homemade cinnamon buns and flowers on the table (the joy…) and the kitchen was stocked with essentials such as tea, coffee and oil.
The accommodation was perfect…..simple and functional, with hot water and heating if needed.
We loved the local forest walks, had a great time on the zip slide and I enjoyed the owl in the evening, the dawn chorus and woodpecker as a wake up call.
The Dell is a great place to enjoy local attractions….
We spent a morning at Loch Garten with its resident Osprey, Goshawk and White tailed eagle, had a swim in the river Feshie and spent a day on The Jacobite Steam train (unfortunately a wet day so visibility not good).
I wouldn’t hestitate to return again one day and to recommend The Dell to others.
Thank you very much Polly and Ross - so pleased to make it at long last.
