The Pheasant is a stunning Shropshire dining pub with rooms which dates back to the 18th century. Our three new en-suite bedrooms each have super-king size beds and excellent showers, and our splendid breakfasts make the Pheasant a perfect base for a break in south Shropshire’s glorious countryside. We offer a menu of classic English dishes supplemented daily by tempting seasonal specials.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Property's Favourite Review
This was our first visit here but we will certainly return. A superb meal with excellent service and a very good wine list. Food was also beautifully presented. A really lovely Community inn and well worth a visit. We had cod and also the monkfish, and desserts were also excellent. We’d certainly recommend both the pannacotta and the sticky toffee pudding

Fantastic dishes full of flavour in each course. Food was presented beautifully and of a very high standard. I particularly enjoyed my grilled plaice with lobster and prawn bisque. Love that it is community owned. Would definitely recommend and we will return.

We are two couples who had dinner and stayed the night at The Pheasant. We have been before and has become one of our favourite places to eat and stay. The food and service were excellent, we all had 3 delicious courses, the fillet steak was the best we’ve had and we finished off with a drink outside in the garden to cool down. Breakfast was equally impressive, very chilled out and delicious. The rooms are lovely with everything required including tea/coffee facilities. Thank you to all staff and we will be back for our Christmas visit.

Stayed for 3 nights so we could do some touring of the area. Friendly greeting upon arrival and showed to our room. Room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Bathroom fine and had a few minor issues with shower but easily resolved. Staff were great, all young and friendly whilst professional - thank you all. Food was of top quality in our view and we had some of the best dishes we have had in a long time. This was a super break for us and at very reasonable prices. Thoroughly recommended.

Dinner bed and breakfast - Thursday 30th June - Friday 1st July. Very easy review to write....Dinner excellent, room first class, breakfast excellent. What a great experience. Will definitely return. Although the Pheasant is very close to home (30 mins) will certainly stay again. Also has a lovely well kept garden area with amazing views and dog friendly.

We visited the Pheasant a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the experience so much that we went back last night. What a superb experience, the staff were attentive, friendly and efficient, but the food was stunning - we were absolutely blown away. I had the fillet steak which was probably the best steak I have ever eaten! My wife had a lovely luscious Plaice, again one of the tastiest fish dishes she has ever had. The ambience and surroundings are really lovely and relaxing all in all a very enjoyable experience Thank you to the team

We visited twice recently, firstly to try the restaurant ahead of guests arriving and then with the guests on both occasions we were massively impressed. The staff are young but friendly and courteous and operate very professionally. The food matches the quality of the staff and is absolutely fantastic, superbly cooked and elegantly presented. It is not a cheap restaurant but it more than justifies the cost with it's relaxed ambience. We will definitely be returning.

This was easily the best Sunday lunch we’ve had in a long time. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was excellent. Parking was easy and the outdoor space /surroundings very pleasant. Reasonably priced too. We’ll be back and bring friends too.

We've just got back from The Pheasant, having had an absolutely fabulous meal. The service was really good, in fact I asked a question about the flavour of the white bits on my desert and the waiter saud it was white choc and came back to clarify it was white choc and pistachio dust having checked with the chef. He went beyond what most would do. All our food was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. I highly recommend this to all who can get there, its one we shall return to when we are back in the area on holiday.

We had a very good lunch - elderly parents, my sister and myself, while visiting the area for a few days. Our food was superb, particularly the white chocolate parfait. Thoroughly recommend this very good pub. Service was friendly and informative. This is a community owned pub and they are on to a good thing.
