The Falcon Hotel is a 17th century coaching inn on the east bank of the River Severn at Bridgnorth. It is one of Bridgnorth’s best known hostelries. The hotel has been under new management from October 2012. All rooms have been refurbished and the top floor has been totally re built with en suites added. This has created a hotel with a total of 16rooms, provided with a mixture of double, twin, single, family rooms and two apartments The rooms are all on a bed and breakfast basis. The Falcon is a substantial building that retains many of the original features. It is a Grade II Listed period property of traditional construction. There are two outside seating areas. One is enclosed at the rear of the hotel and the other is at the side of the hotel allowing access to both the carpark and the town centre, via the arch. The car park is open to the public on a pay and display basis but residents are issued with a parking permit during their stay. Due to Covid - 19 , we have taken the decision to temporarily keep our downstairs facilities closed at this time. This includes our Bar, Lounge & Restaurant areas. A continental Breakfast box is prepared ready in your room. Local businesses still offering food & drink including cooked breakfasts are available within walking distance and we can recommend these to you.

Well what can I say, the room was fine but the shower ran hot then cold, the noise from the bar was terrible, the breakfast hot food was inedible the first morning and the second breakfast was cold and I had to ask for it again, the plus side all the staff were so friendly and I feel for them!!

First the good points. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The manager kindly let us have our room for an extra hour as we were going to a funeral. And…that was the point, I requested twice that could we be allocated a quiet room as we were going to a funeral the next day and would like a good nights sleep. The room was so small and situated in the front of the hotel between two noisy roads. The electric shower was very old fashioned and the toilet seat was very loose so broke. After a terrible nights sleep we went down to breakfast which didn’t get any better. My scrambled eggs had been cooked for so long they had turned into rubbery string and my husbands full English breakfast was also disappointing with a hard fried egg. All in all terrible value for money and very disappointing. Unfortunately we certainly wouldn’t return.

On the whole I was impressed by the staff who were always polite, friendly and helpful. However that doesn't help improve the quality of my stay. Firstly the room. It was incredibly small and a sun trap. I know the heatwave was a problem but that suggests that maybe windows should have been left open but in my room this was also tricky as it wouldn't stay open unassisted more than a couple of inches. After my first very restless and very sweaty night I found out that other rooms had a fan provided. I asked at the desk after breakfast and they said they would put a fan into my room which they did. However when I got back to my room nearing midnight I found that the reason it had been taken out was that it didn't work. The toilet/shower was also small but the shower head was too powerful for its holder and when switched on sprayed the entire room with water. The bottle of water had been left in direct sunlight and was near boiling. The words on the hot and cold taps had been rubbed off from age and guess work had to be used. It is clear to me that a recent refurbishment was basically painting over the existing wallpaper in an oppressive grey which made the small room feel smaller. The breakfast provided was also disappointing. 1 sausage, 1 bit of bacon, 5 quarters of mushrooms, microwaved beans, an overcooked egg and toast feels incredibly stingy and best described as a Half English.  Finally, I was surprised and disappointed when we arrived back from the wedding, a little after 11.30 to discover the bar in darkness and the staff heading out the door. Logic would have dictated to me that with a large number of guests attending that wedding staying open at least until midnight or even later might have been financially profitable. All in all, for the amount I paid, I felt incredibly let down.

Just got back from an overnight stop. Would highly recommend this hotel. Lovely location. Rooms ofter all amenities you need. The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough to help. They even offer their own car service which really help us as struggled to get a taxi. Will certainly stop there again.

I had booked our rooms direct with the hotel we arrived to a warm welcome and check in was no problem at all.. Unfortunately my brother had booked through booking .com and due to reducing the number of rooms he required the falcon hotel had no evidence of his booking. Booking.coms fault. We were told there was no room available for him ( he is registered blind). Following a conversation with Jonathan the duty manager he went above and beyond to juggle some bookings and managed to find my brother a single room for 2 nights for which we are grateful for. On the negative side the single room shower was a small faucet and due to pressure of the water the shower head moved and shot over the shower screen flooding the bathroom. The first morning breakfast was lovely with the usual choices of croissants. Cereal locally sourced full breakfast and a choice of jams Unfortunately the breakfast the second day was different to the first . Undercooked toast and overcooked eggs. The rooms were clean and tidy with hairdryer, fan, iron and ironing board available. Good choice of drinks in the bar also. Would we stay here again . Yes definitely especially if Jonathan is on shift

What a great place to stay … fishing trip to seven and stayed for a couple of nights .. staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was Indian but superb and different. Rooms where excellent and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel, it’s not overpriced and offers good old fashioned service which is not over the top .. Thanks for making the weekend memorable we are coming back

We were most disappointed in our stay at The Falcon. There was a friendly welcome and the Breakfast Staff were most kind and friendly. Everything else was sadly not so. The bedroom was small with very little storage space, the bathroom was small too, though the shower was fine but the door seal was poor so the floor became wet and slippy. I have slight mobility problems following a stroke and opted for a Room Service Breakfast on the first morning. The charge to provide this was £5 and consisted of Pastries and Fruit, clearly not Breakfast. Lunch was not available due tto the effect of Covid, previously, which is perfectly understandable. The Evening Meal was provided by an Indian Style Restaurant, that we would not have enjoyed. I addressed these issues with a member of staff, who proved to be very argumentative. Due to the heat, I asked fir a glass of iced water and the same gentleman provided a glass of tepid water; at Breakfast the next day a kind lady provided a lovely glass of iced water. We won't be back.

On arrival- the gentleman was efficient but not friendly (far from unfriendly) He sounded like he was going through the motions. Was shown to my room which was good. Was shown 2 codes which felt like I was in a secure facility 😊 Room was perfect, clean and comfortable Breakfast was perfect but why no black or white pudding and why sugary beans? I wanted to watch the soccer match on the bar and told I wasn’t allowed too as it attracts potential trouble (there were 2 of us in bar) (they were showing the BBC news and no one wanted it I’d stay again Jo in the bar and kitchen is an assist to the hotel
