We spent a relaxing weekend at The Stoneway for our Wedding Anniversary. Ideally located for both low & high Towns. The Cliff Railway is literally on the door step, as the hotel was once part of the railway offices. Breakfast was wholesome, excellent quality and freshly cooked. Plentiful tea and toast. The room en-suite was clean and comfortable. Throughly enjoyable stay
We were only staying one night in Bridgenorth and booked Stoneway Guesthouse after reading previous reviews. What a gem of a place it is. Views of the funicular railway add something special, you can’t help but wave… Our room ( double en-suite ) was spacious and comfortable which enabled a good nights sleep. Hosts Andy & Maria were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and answered all the questions we could throw at them about Bridgenorth, a place we will certainly be coming back to as we did not have time to explore fully. Breakfast was lovely, set us up for the day. All in all a great little guesthouse in an interesting town, topped off with great hospitality. Would I return ? Absolutely.
You would be hard to beat this traditional guest house with the added feature of seeing the Cliff railway run under the house. !! A gem of a novelty and history factor to a stay. Room 2 with en suite, very clean with TV, enough coffee/tea facilities and large en suite bathroom with a super shower. Hosts Maria and Andy were fab, nothing too much trouble, breakfast delicious, loads of knowledge about exploring beautiful Bridgnorth. Would recommend seeing the Mill, Castle ruins, steam trains, gardens, caves and going on the Cliff railway !!! Thank you for a fab stay :)
Our holiday got off to a bad start, however we can't fault our stay in this hotel. We had not eaten all day and noticed they only serve food till 9.30pm, our satnav showed we would not arrive till 9.30, so we phoned the hotel, the wonderful manager, don't know his name but he was Italian, made sure the kitchen staff were aware and told us he would make sure we could still eat, we arrived at the hotel, key ready for our room, checked in, by the time we got downstaiurs our meals came out the kitchen, all the staff were wonderful. The room was clean and comfy and short stay was perfect, customer service is 5 star, we went on holiday to a 5 star hotel and the service was better at the Premier Inn!
Perfect location for us after a day on Severn Valley Railway. Warm friendly welcome, all covid safe & compliant. Clean comfortable ensure room with a window view directly onto the cliff railway. Pre ordered breakfast was very good. Knowledgeable hosts who suggested visiting high Town, which we did this morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would recommend a visit.
Stopped one night for first time, room was a double for single price, which was great, very basic,!but very clean, lady was so friendly, breakfast was lovely and fresh, perfectly cooked, loved your vegan,❤️❤️🙏 sausages,!I hope to return again in the near future..felt like home..
Had a fantastic stay with my children. Great location. Always able to find a parking space in the car park which is just over the bridge. We went to Drayton Manor and West Midlands Safari Park during our stay which are easy to get to from Bridgnorth. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Great choices for a full English breakfast and vegetarian/vegan options are available too! Rooms were very comfortable and really clean. We will definitely stay again!
Absolute Gem of a find. Hidden away in the centre of the picturesque riverside town of Bridgnorth. Excellent hosts ,so friendly and welcoming, lovely cosy comfortable room, quiet and secluded with a wonderful quality Breakfast. Would highly recommend and we will be definitely returning ourselves. To put things into perspective, we have travelled worldwide and stayed in many 5 star properties so we do think we are qualified to give such opinions.
Fantastic place to stay - will definitely be returning. Clean, comfortable rooms and great location. Breakfast outstanding! Amazing homemade bread 🥖 and full english so real treat. Nothing too much trouble 👍😀
If you want a Premier Inn experience it's probably not for you but I found it quirky and very peaceful. The building is unique and at the bottom of the Victorian furnicular railway, which actually runs under the room I had breafast in. Sadly I had to leave before it started as I would have enjoyed that experience. Parking is in a pub car park across the bridge. I enjoyed the walk in the evening and on the following morning, although it wasn't raining. The room was small and inexpensively furnished. The bathroom was fine and the new shower was powerful enough. Wifi is included and it worked. The room was very quiet and the bed comfortable. The next morning the breakfast was £6.50 and as good as anywhere you pay twice that at. The coffee was fresh and they gave me a large pot. Hosts are friendly without being intrusive. It's unusual, fascinating and great value.…
