We came here for a weekend over the Easter holidays, we are a family of five! The cottage we stayed is was Granary cottage which is a spacious 5 bed cottage. On arrival we met the owner who was very accommodating. The cottage itself was spotless and fitted our needs perfectly, very comfortable , With all amenities. Slightly dated but...

Visiting from Canada we stayed in the Shippon on this trip visiting family in the local area. We met the new owner for the first time, He was quite friendly along with the resident chickens in the courtyard. Still the same high standard and would recommend. This is our 7th stay at this location.

We chose to stay at the Stable because it had 2 bathrooms and was all ground floor. It also had its own gated entrance which would be nice and private in the warmer months when able to sit outside. The other cottages appeared to have a shared courtyard for the outdoor seating area. The cottage was very cold when we...

We booked both the Shippon and the Granary for a 40th birthday weekends for a group of us (plus young children) On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation, everything being even nicer than the photos suggested (which is normally not the case!) We wanted a very low key place to stay where we could have a relaxed family...

Nice and quiet, yet somewhere for our 3 year to explore too with family. The layout was just right, & with provision of...

The perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing get away. Lovely cottage with everything you could need, a couple of good pubs within walking distance, ideal location for walks along the canal and near enough to Burscough and Ormskirk to drive within 10 minutes. An ideal break and can't wait to go back

If you are looking for a relaxing home from home in an idyllic setting, then this is the place to be. We have just finished a four week stay in this terrific self catering cottage and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the price included electricity, wifi and all our linen requirements. The cottage was fully equipped with everything...
