Excellent facilities, room was great, food top class staff very friendly and helpful. About half hour drive from the port. So good have booked it again for our next cruise, in October, it has ample car parking spaces.

Was persuaded to visit for Sunday lunch against my better judgement - if you are local you'll know the potters heron isn't exactly most peoples first choice pub / restaurant. There was one barman serving, making another couples drinks (slowly). He neither looked at us or acknowledged us. After about 5 minutes waiting I'm starting to wish we hadn't bothered....

Again for me, a business trip and a 2 night stay at The Potters Heron. My room was at the rear of the Hotel, and was spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice comfortable bed, so 2 good night's sleep were had. Bar area is large, and the nice upstairs restaurant served a good variety and very good quality of food. My...

from the time I rang to say we'd be arriving after Ten pm to the time we checked out, the staff were courteous, attentive and helpful. Two small requests were fulfilled promptly. I've no comment this time about food - we skipped breakfast every day - the "do not disturb" sign was respected. We enjoyed room 8 on the ground...

The hotel is located in the middle of the picturesque village of Ampfield. It looks cosy and appealing from the road, thatched roof and all. It’s only when you explore the building that you realise it is very modern both inside and outside. Indeed, it was completely re-built after the original structure burned down in fire, in 1966. Still, the...

Checked in and we were given room 30. Was quite shocked to find we had no view other than that of a red metal roof cover or water container. This made the room dark. Room was okay, in need of an upgrade. No iron or ironing board. Double duvet on what appeared to be a kingsize bed. We ate in...

A whole family had a mothers day lunch. Plus points - the staff. Very attentive and polite. The food was OK but poor value for money. Starter was tasty and about the right size. Main course was OK but roast potatoes barely cooked, gravy almost non existent as were the overcooked green vegetables. Only two small strips of beef as...

Came here on a business trip and our hosts kindly assumed the costs so I'm not sure how much the room cost. It's a quaint thatched roof probably listed building that probably needs a bit of an up-grade but to be fair was still quite charming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was ok but a bit...

Stayed here on an overnight stop with a friend. Paid around £80 for B&B. Rooms well appointed and clean. Some of the furniture is ready to be replaced (worn chair back). King size bed and decent sized room. No real grumbles with the room. Restaurant area and bar had a nice open atmosphere and the food imc breakfast buffet were...
