The reception was fine and overall, as you would expect from a pub come hotel the bar area and service is very good. I prefer to have a change of scenery in the evening to local bars or restaurants and location is not great. The room was spacious and the bed fairly comfy, a few areas need looking at. The...

Partner came with me on a work trip to Manchester so we looked for something more interesting than the usual chain hotels. Greeted by the very friendly and attentive manager, we checked in and booked a table in the restaurant before relaxing in our room. A much higher standard than the usual B&B's, the bed was very comfortable and there...

We had a meal for two in the restaurant, didnt fancy the usual Chinese or Indian this time although Blue Spice is excellent, I had the Sea Bass dish, my Partner had a beef dish osso buco, both were well presented and superbly cooked, we didnt like where we were originally seated and asked the waitress for a table swop,...

Staying for just the one night on business, I wanted something a bit more homely than the Village or similar large hotel. The Broadoak fitted the bill perfectly - clean spacious rooms, free wifi, friendly staff and they serve a good pint! Only slight negative was that they bill the restaurant as 'gastropub' but food and menu was fairly standard...

We wanted somewhere nice to stay not too far from the Velodrome. The room was large and really well decorated with everything we needed. The bed was so comfy! The whole place is very smart and clean and the staff are very friendly. We had a delicious evening meal. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was full and...

Visited the restaurant for the first time today, with my wife. Had an enjoyable meal, in a nice environment, served by friendly staff. We had cheese & onion pie, my wife's favourite. The food was excellent quality, in fact one of the best cheese & onion my wife has had. Reasonably priced, and good quality, what more could you want....

Annual visit to the Broadoak was great. New ownership but regular staff. Our meal was perfect, the soup was served piping hot, delicious, this was folowed by turkey, stuffing and vegetables. Mine couldnt be faulted. Ths was followed by strawberry cheesecake. We then had mincepies and coffee. There was also a complimentary glass of wine or fruit juice. The meal...

The room was quite nice, the table also, but the Seniors Lunch Portions were very small. The fish was tiny and there were only approximately 6 chips with each plate. The Melon starter was hard . The pate was really nice as was the piri piri chicken pasta. Talking to people who had food off the ordinary menu not the...
