We were supposed to be going for Xmas, but due to covid, it was put on hold. We went in May 2021. The staff was lovely, everywhere was very clean, and the food was excellent, with very big potions and plenty to choose from. The rooftop pool was very big with plenty of sunbeds, tables, and chairs. The views from the pool are amazing. The hotel is in the perfect place, not far from the beach. All down the road from the hotel they are plenty of bars. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Booked this as a birthday present from my children, on arrival waited half hour for reception to appear despite ringing bell several times they only came when phone rang. The hotel was deserted but we checked in and had to ask for the champagne, which we was told we was early (2.20pm) but they bought it up, no problem! Never received our water though. Went out and had a lovely evening in lo pagan Bed was very hard and pillow like sleeping on a brick, however the room it’s self was very nice but very hot, we tried to use the aircon to cook It down but it wouldn’t work at all just blasted out hot air. The bonus of the jacuzzi bath was lovely and an amazing shower! Breakfast was ok? The orange juice tasted weird and wasn’t orange juice colour? But choice of cold meats, cheese, fruits, yoghurt, breads plus hash browns bacon eggs etc but it’s had been there a while under lights, We was the only ones in the restaurant and whilst the food was ok it was like warm, we went at 8.30 so not sure what it would be like for people after. The hotel offer a late check out for €19 which I requested and was refused despite as I said earlier there not being anyone in the hotel, we saw one other couple the whole time we was there! Baring in mind it’s the beginning of January so out of season so don’t know why they couldn’t do this. Yet I could of booked another night? We only live one hour from hotel and love a break away so it’s a shame as I thought the place itself was very beautiful, maybe you could work on your staff and a few other points.

We have stayed here a few times when viewing properties in the area. It is a perfect location, 10mins walk to the beach and similar to San Pedro town in the opposite direction. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area, all walking distance. You can hire bikes from the hotel. Pay to use the underground car park or you can park for free on any of the roads nearby. We did this each time we stayed and didn’t have a problem. Breakfast whilst varied wasn’t great quality. You get by ok but I would rather walk out for a better quality breakfast elsewhere. This has a canteen feel that you always get with a buffet. Rooms are basic but clean and we slept very well. No noise, we were near the back of the hotel on a upper floor. Balcony was lovely and we asked for a kettle so we could have a coffee on the balcony in the morning. Towels are small! A good base to sleep and a excellent location but eat elsewhere. We preferred this hotel to the Lodomar which we have also stayed at due to the location and accessibility to amenities.

Lovely hotel right in the centre with many amenities, nice street bar attached with hard working staff very friendly. We stayed with all the flooding worst for 100 years and still had a great time. The underground car park remained dry.

Have stayed at this hotel many times before and I have to say every time that I have visited Spain this hotel gets better the staff are so friendly and helpful, the majority speak good English if not have language translation on your phone will make things easier for them. Lovely pool on roof and a bar which is open during the summer months where you can see the majority of the town lit up in its glory. There are plenty of places to eat and drink close to the hotel, but to be honest on a hot summers day if you can’t face the 10/15 minute walk to beach front the food at the hotel is just as good. Close by there is also a small supermarket and a pharmacy so there is something to meet everybody’s needs.

Myself and my husband stayed overnight for a function being held at the hotel. Check in was quick and friendly, the room was clean. Considering the hotel had lots of notice of this function, it would have been good if they’d put more staff in the small bar, which was used before the event. Food was hot and plenty of it during the evening although service was a little slow. I left for bed before the end of the night, no soundproofing in our room, so I may as well have stayed downstairs. The room was equipped with a fridge. Approximately every half an hour, it came to life, the motor sounding like it had been hit with a sledgehammer. The fridge motor then ran, sounding a bit like a tractor, for 15-20 minutes. Once all was quiet, I was serenaded by mosquitoes, yes, I was bitten several times. Just dozed off to sleep, then, bang, the fridge motor fires up again. You get the picture? Then repeat. Had I not been drinking that night, which was the whole reason we stayed over, I’d have got up and driven home. Totally sleepless night. Hence I skipped breakfast and set off home early for some much needed rest. Not a great experience and not one I’d repeat.

Response from Raúl A, Gerente at Hotel Traina
Responded 6 Feb 2019
Thank you very much for your review. We regret that you didn´t have the rest you were looking for in our hotel. It's a pity that you didn´t say about the noise of the refrigerator at the reception. We would have explained how to turn it off to don´t hear it anymore. Even so we will check the noise in case it is damaged. We also regret that only you have written a very thorough review about our hotel on tripadvisor and the other 70 people didn´t, which congratulated us the following morning for the great day they lived with us. Kind regards
