My wife and I had the privilege of staying at Le Traverse just few km outside The walled hilltop town of Pienza. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The views are stunning from this wonderfully restored old house on top of the hill. Pinuccia is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. I had the luck to share... More

Le Traverse sits on a hill overlooking the beautiful Tuscan landscape. There's nothing better than being served breakfast on the terrace - everything fresh and homemade . Your host, Panuccia, is warm and witty and a fountain of knowledge of the area and of the world. She is absolutely delightful!

No review of Le Traverse would be complete without singing the praises of Pinuccia. She is a smart, worldly host with a very generous heart. The grounds were breathtaking and the suites were independent and gorgeous. Breakfasts outside the room were plentiful and delicious. The staff was sweet and accommodating and the pool was fantastic. Pinuccia made dinner reservations for... More

Le Traverse is located a few minutes from the beautiful town of Pienza. A small road opens up to the farm, bed and breakfast and home of Pinuccia, the owner of this exquisite estate. This type of lodging is called Agritourism and the evidence of the farm is seen in the olive trees, grapes, fruit trees, and wonderful homemade jams... More

Le Traverse is the place to stay! The host, Panuccia, makes the Tuscan countryside come alive. It is a truly Italian experience. The room and the breakfast was wonderful. Pienza is just a short drive away, perfect for stopping in for dinner. It is much better to stay outside of Pienza in this countryside-paradise with a nice view of hilltop... More

The Le Traverse experience is as good as it gets for this price range and probably better that most places that are higher. Hospitality is top notch, breakfast is great with friends service from the help. The pool is quiet and clean. Rooms are comfortable, they don't have AC so if it's over 90F then it's a little warm but... More

A Piece of Heaven What can you say about a place where two rows of cypress trees lead up a glorious hillside to a piece of heaven? I think you say “Grazie.” Grazie for the jasmine that framed our patio and doorway and wafted its sweet scent into our room. Grazie for the pink roses on the rustic wood bureau,... More

We started to plan our trip to Italy over 2 years ago with the most important part of finding a place in Toscana. So many Villas so many areas, Siena, Montepucilano, Cortona, Chianti all the big names and places we visited while here. We did not stay in any of those places were we did stay was Le Traverse in... Spent five nights at this gorgeous 4-room B&B (800 year old foundation rebuilt 30 yrs ago with upgraded facilities). Owner, Penucia, could not have been more accommodating, nor could have been her staff (2 women). Penucia was meticulous in her service and offerings; made dinner sugggestions and reservations, as she knows everyone 'in town' (Pienza is the perched, walled city... More

We spent three nights here in mid-May and had the most wonderful experience. Pinuccia was incredibly warm, welcoming, and delightful to chat with. Breakfasts each day were delicious and very elegant, served on white linen; fresh coffee and tea, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs (from the hens on the property!), fresh made breads with homemade jams, and even a special birthday...
