I would highly recommend this hotel, it is set in a superb position close to the town of Portoscuso. The rooms are spacious and the view we had from ours was fantastic, they were also well appointed and exceptionally clean. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the room on request . We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly throughout our stay especially the reception staff. The hotel pool is large and has an extensive garden around it, both the pool and garden are very well maintained. The pool area was very quiet during our stay despite the weather being excellent, at times (mainly in the morning) we had the whole pool to ourselves. There is a phone by the pool so that orders can be phoned into the hotel for drinks etc., the service for this was very efficient. There was only 1 hot food option at breakfast (scrambled egg and bacon) but there was a good selection of cakes and pastries to choose from which was regularly refreshed. There was also a good coffee machine but the cups were very small and meant a few visits were required, it also made it difficult to make a decent cup of tea. The only other thing that could have been improved was the selection of juices, those available were pineapple, blood orange (which was not very orange) and super juice (a mixture of fruit and vegetable juice), it would have been nice to have some ‘proper’ orange or apple juice available. The location of the hotel is ideal, it is a very short walk to the lovely beach which is backed by a couple of bars that are open during the day for food and drink. It is also a short and very pleasant walk (most of which can be done along the shoreline) into town for an evening meal. There have been negative comments made here about weddings taking place in the hotel and the noise that this creates late into the night, we were therefore somewhat concerned when on arrival there was a wedding celebration going on (as we had left home at 4am and were more than a little tired); however, when we returned from our evening meal at about 10pm we found that the celebrations were more or less over and we heard no noise from our room.…
We stayed in a Suite for 6 nights, living room was spacious, with a separate bedroom, both with balconies (one with sun loungers, the other smaller one had a table and 2 chairs) overlooking the sea. Views were spectacular, right opposite San Pietro island (you can see the capital Carloforte). Pool is great, has the same view and has grass and trees as well as a raised concrete seating area. Temperature is nice, perfect for cooling down and never too busy. The Spa is lush: spotlessly clean and new, you can only use it by appointment and it’s basically a private Spa, as you’ll be the only ones in there. Great sauna and steam room, nice showers and jacuzzi. Free parking, our little Chihuahua stayed with us for 9 euros per night. Fridge in the room, very handy. Location is also great: 20 minute walk to downtown Portoscuso, 100m to Portopaglietto beach, about 300m to a pine forest, great for running. Service was really good, particularly Omero and Virginia on reception, they were superb all week and really went out of their way to help. Francesca was also fab in the Spa: our treatments were top notch and she really gives a great massage. Restaurant also serves really tasty food and breakfast buffet is nice: boiled eggs, meats and cheeses along with various fruits, breads, cakes, cereals and yogurts. There are a few little glitches, which is why it’s not 5 stars: - our bathroom sink had a drainage problem. We only told them when we left though. - Spotty housekeeping: sometimes we’d get toiletries, sometimes not. Other things too like cups, failing to empty garbage etc - Room service: we ordered once, were told it would be 30 mins, called back after 60 mins, were told it would be 30 more mins, due to the restaurant just getting full and their need to prioritize restaurant guests over room service guests. Disappointing. We did enjoy our stay though, even let our Chihuahua stay by the pool (as long as she didn’t go in). Well worth a try, as long as you skip room service…
The hotel has a great location on the sea just steps from Portupaleddu beach, and exudes quiet, calm and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are clean and well appointed though the bed could be better. The food in the restaurant was incredible and the advice of the wait staff on food recommendations (mostly local or regional specialties) and Sardinian wine pairing was spot on. Be warned, the portions are -not- small. The staff, whether it was front desk, restaurant or housekeeping was very friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure the guests had a great experience. If I ever get back to Portoscuso, and I hope I do, I will stay here again. A si biri!
Great property, very clean and spacious rooms. The pool and lounge area is a great place to sunbathe and take a swim. The proximity to beaches or a walk down a cliff to access the ocean was a fun outing. Breakfast provided had an abundant selection of sweet and savoury, all well prepared and presented, the espresso was well made and served upon request. Secure parking was an additional bonus, under a beautiful covered area with solar panels. We had lunch at the ground floor restaurant, great selection and tasty dishes. Staff at front desk and restaurant were all very pleasant, accommodating and professional!
Great food and comfortable rooms. Excellent staff throughout. The Hotel's restaurant is a la carte and amongst the best in the area (Lobster, Tomahawk Steak etc) Try to book the suite as it's significantly larger than the other rooms and has an extensive balcony with 180 degree views of the sunset across the bay. Great pool with a shallow for the kids, and also snorkelling is 100m away. Small beach and multiple restaurants are 300m away. (Photos included are the view from our room) Thoroughly recommend 👍
