Detailed Reviews
We really enjoyed our visit at Cill Aodain. The staff was so helpful and pleasant - one even walked me to the laundry mat and showed me how to use the machines. They made sure every need we had was met! Breakfast was great, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfy. Thanks for the great hospitality!

We have just had the most amazing Home Wedding, we simply can't thank the Cil Aoduin enough for playing a huge part in it's success and making it such a perfect weekend. Our guests stayed in the hotel, they were blown away by the hospitality. My brothers quote 'the staff are amazing they simply can't do enough for us'. This was echoed throughout our guests. Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was served to suit each guest, and was delicious. We had a pre-wedding supper in the restaurant and again the food and service were excellent. On Saturday the Cill Aoduin arranged transport for our guests to our house. All of Sebastian, Trish and Pjs pre-wedding planning with us paid off. Their attention to detail and ability to meet all of our requirements made the entire planning process a effortless and enjoyable experiance for us.
Sebastian and Eamer stayed In the house with us for the duration of the wedding. Following our ceramony They served delicious warm hors d'oeuvres, then a little later a sit down dinner. I still can't believe how delicious and beautifully presented it all was, regardless of the fact they were working from a our kitchen!
Eamer, a young member of staff, was amazing, she was calm efficiant polite and didn't stop smiling.
Between PJ's warmth and hospitality, Trish's organisation and eye for detail and Sebastians professional desire for perfection it is no surprise that the weekend was such a huge success and that they have the most magnificent team of staff.
A very Grateful Mr & Mrs McDermott.

We stayed here for just one night and had both dinner and breakfast. The food was very good served with a pleasant smile. Choice for both dinner and breakfast is comprehensive and prices are reasonable. Was very impressed with quality, taste and presentation. The staff working here could not be more pleasant and helpful. They seem to enjoy their jobs and are focused on delivering a high standard of customer service, which they achieve. The rooms are large and airy - we asked for a quiet room at the back, which we got, and had a great nights sleep. from previous visits the rooms at the front are on the main stet which is busy and noisy.

Went for dinner with visiting family member. On arrival we were told no record of our booking !! Eventually we were seated in a dark corner close to the side of the bar with cleaning materials & upturned stools to look at. We asked to move to the restaurant which we thought we would have been in anyway. Lots of tables available in there. However table was not set properly....missing side plate, serviette, condiments. Ordered cocktails one being a mojito which I usually enjoy. It was terrible. No taste of rum....Just soda water. I mentioned it to the staff who said they would make me another but it came back just the same. Eventually it was replaced with a different cocktail !!.Food was average, garlic mushrooms ok. Pasta was tasty & plentiful but salmon order was dry & overcooked. Dessert was lovely...the pavlova. Restaurant lacked atmosphere & service was a little bit disappointing.
No checks from staff to see if everthing was ok or if we would have liked more drinks etc.Maybe we caught them on a bad night but we left very disappointed.

On arrival, I was taken back by the decor or the hotel.
Very nice and comforting.
The staff were really friendly and the toilets were immaculate.
I was surprised to find Seafood chowder on a menu in a place inland.
It was very good and the homemade brown soda bread was delicious.
Good value too.
2 bowls chowder,1 homemade soup ,and glass of coke was €33.00.

Called in for Sunday lunch place was doing a good trade lots of people in. We had main course and desert which was priced around normal €18/19.
Dessert menu was grand with 6/7 choices.
Plenty of staff on the go.
Toilets bit dated and not maybe as clean as you’d expect with stale smell.
One thing we found strange after ordering we were told that we couldn’t have stuffing with the Lamb or Beef that we ordered. This was 1pm and so what we would consider early in the day to be running out of trimmings 🤔

We stayed at the Cill Aodain in mid-November for two nights whilst visiting Knock. It was a first stay for us and we were so impressed with the attention to detail and friendliness of the staff. They couldn't do enough for our group and the food and service was first class. We will definitely return on our next visit to Co.Mayo!

We booked the venue for a birthday party for about 50 people. I had booked everything over the phone as I do not live locally. I could not have been more impressed with the help and support I was given by Sheila in planning the event. When we arrived in the hotel on the Saturday afternoon we were overwhelmed by the hospitality we were shown. Everything was ready with the tables beautifully set and birthday balloons in place. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that the evening went smoothly and the service and food were excellent. I cannot thank PJ and his staff enough for all their hard work and we would definitely book the Cill Aodain again.
