The booking process was easy, very responsive to my query. Pulling into the place we liked what we saw and Jamie was out quickly to greet us. He guided us through the site and offered us a choice of pitches so whatever we preferred, very nice and we appreciated being able to suit ourselves. We settled in and found that everything in the facility worked perfectly and in good order. You can see that the place is well cared for. The wash up area was very handy and well laid out.The showers and bathroom areas were immaculate and the sansitisation processes that are in place were signs that customer welfare is taken seriously. We have two large dogs so the dog run was important and the way its set out is excellent, very necessary to let my two get their exercise. Amanda and Jamie are excellent hosts. They were courteous and friendly without being overbearing ans were available to answer any question, offer advice on local attractions etc. We spent a couple of days there but it was tranquil and relaxing - felt like a week's break. Loved it and will be back. Thanks and regards to you both. Kev & Liz

Thank you Kev and Liz it was night to meet you and we look forward to your return, top tip, hang a list of items to bring (awning) on your steering wheel. When we are not full we do encourage campers to chose their pitch, when we are full we pre allocate based on information provided in the booking process. We also have quite a number of regulars who know the pitch or pitches they like and request specific pitches and again where possible we will ensure they get their preferred option. We do try to respect campers privacy but also to available if needed. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Strand campsite was our favourite campsite on our tour of the west coast of our beautiful Island in our converted Transit van..Jamie and Amanda were very helpful with our online booking as i had a bit of a problem with my phone but they helped me through the process. They take pride in their site and you could tell it is well kept each pitch is lovingly cared for they have new rubber grass on some pitches with trees between pitches for privacy you had everything you needed on site wifi was brilliant its fibre so i could watch a movie at night..there is a play area for kids you could rent bikes out on site. Amazing place to stay it was perfect, the washrooms are spotless and free showers added bonus was a hairdryer to use for free we ended up staying 2 nights as the facilities and the hospitality was so good, we will def be back.. Thank you for having us on your site. Lynn and Tony.

Thank you for your review and for taking the time to write it. We do not currently have bikes to rent on site but it is something we are considering for next year. Having strong WiFi available across the campsite has enabled quite a few people this year to “work from home” whilst being away it is also handy on the odd day it rains as quite a few people have access to streaming platforms. We look forward to seeing you again.

Amanda and Jamie welcomed us very well on arrival. It‘s a beautiful small campsite. You can see that the owner has a clear vision of what makes a great campsite. It is spotlessly clean. Its the first campsite we came across where you don’t have to pay extra for a shower. If you’re in the area you should stay here!

Thank you for your review and I trust you enjoyed Clifden Eco as well. Our site is small 20 pitches but that helps us as it is a manageable number and we believe that cleanliness is really important, especially now. And being campers ourselves I’m not a fan of push buttons in showers or an extra charge for showers.

The guys at strand camping were just great. Nothing was too much trouble, very friendly, and the place was faultless. The bay was wide, we had plenty of room, the facilities were modern, clean and regularly checked. The Covid-19 precautions were sensible, consistent and not overbearing, and the area was just lovely. The site was sheltered by the bushes surrounding it, which made it easy to pitch our awning. The new rubber grass pitch was comfortable to sleep on too.

Thank you for your booking and review. We have been trying for a long time to find an alternative to grass for some of our tent and awning pitches. We understand that grass is would be what most people would expect but the reality of our ground conditions and the frequency of rain means that grass pitches can become messy mud pitches this can then transfer into habitation areas. So after a trial in a couple of pitches we now have 50% of our pitches with an all weather surface suitable for tents and awnings. We are pleased you liked the area around us as we do to.
