We stayed for one night at The Trump Doonbeg Hotel during our 50th wedding anniversary trip to Ireland in September 2022. From the moment we drove up to the gate, and were greeted by a kind gentleman named Ollie, we knew that this was going to be a very special experience. We loved our stay so much, we decided to return this September for two nights, for our 51st anniversary. When we arrived in our cottage links room, we were slightly disappointed.... There was an empty picture hook on one of the walls, and not as many windows as last year, making for a slightly claustrophobic feeling for me...I quickly called the reception desk, asking if there were any other rooms available, and was told there was not. I also asked if we could please have a few more toiletries, since last year there were extras in the vanity drawer.
Shortly after this conversation, a gentleman named Lee came to our room with more of the items that I requested. We had a very nice conversation with him, and chatted about England where he was from, and also said we were slightly disappointed with this room as opposed to last year... A short time later, another gentleman named Nathan knocked on our door, and said he heard we were disappointed with our room, and asked if we would like to move to another. We were happy to take him up on his kind offer. Within ten minutes, we were moved across the hall to a much larger accommodation that was gorgeous. We were thrilled beyond words, and very grateful for the change. When we dined in the Trump Bar that evening we were warmly greeted by the manager Oliver who wished us a happy anniversary. A special dessert was brought to our table that was beautiful and delicious! All the meals in this dining venue have been wonderful! Our server Sarah was a delight, and very good at her job.Our two breakfasts in the Ocean View Dining Room were so lovely, with a very attentive staff and magnificent views of the ocean! I captured a photo of a rainbow from our breakfast table. Our second stay at this beautiful property was further enhanced by a wonderful gentleman named Michael, who drove us several times from our room to the restaurant..He was so helpful with knowledge about the area, and we shared good conversation about many topics. We were very sad to leave, since the two days were so memorable. The ambience, the food, the staff, and beauty of the land are all memories we cherish, and hope to experience again next year!
Bravo...to all at Trump Doonbeg!!

We arrived with a view to having a look around and expected to encounter a lot of security given the ownership of the resort but the staff were all very professional, courteous and welcoming and we ended up staying for quite a while having a brilliant meal and drinks. The staff were all very careful with their hygiene procedures wearing masks and provided personal bottles of hand sanitisers, these things may seem irrelevant to some but they are important when we are emerging from a lockdown when few ate out anywhere. The food and drinks served was without equal, service prompt and courteous and very reasonably priced and we hope to go back soon for a longer stay

I stayed here for a couple of days, on arrival we were made most welcome by all the staff, and shown to our (I can only explain it as ,a chocolate box cottage,) set on the grounds of the hotel itself, it was a very pretty one bedroomed apartment set like a little village, with cobbled pathways, pretty walled gardens filled with flowers and a beautifully mowed lawn in the center with the only sound of the birds singing.
The apartment was uncluttered decorated in cream and grey with shutters on the window and the door, the bed was uncluttered with just a simple crisp white duvet and pillows, no awful dusty cushions and throws to have to remove from the bed as I have had to do in most hotels which I have stayed before being able to relax after my journey, there was a large wardrobe behind a grey door, and lovely antique looking chest of drawers too with many large drawers, behind another grey door was a fridge ,coffee machine ,kettle mugs etc and a safe. The toilet sinks and extremely powerful shower were immaculate and spacious with everything you require to make you feel at home.
We had decided to treat ourselves to dinner in the main restaurant on our first evening there, the staff were very attentive and polite and we were served with our food quickly.
We decided to order a bottle of white wine which after tasting it had to ask for an ice bucket as it was cold but not chilled as it should be.
We both ordered scallops to start which were Luke warm and undercooked .The main course of Lamb cutlets were very well cooked but lacking vegetables, my
husband decided on the lobster risotto, which he found overly sickly also the lobster undercooked.
We shared a cheese board which was lacking flavorsome cheeses such as a nice matured cheddar, stilton or an aged parmesan. The prices of 40 euros a head for just the main course we felt the food which was supposed to be five star quality was not deserved.
The following evening we went to The Trump bar and restaurant, where the food was very good both steaks were well cooked and tender, the only fault I could say was the pepper sauce was more a gravy with peppercorns in than a creamy pepper sauce I was expecting, yet again the staff were very pleasant and we were quickly served and our meals were piping hot.
Breakfast I can not fault beautifully prepared and cooked and a very large choice, but unfortunately was spoiled for me when I had to call the waitress over after discovering my knife was encrusted with dried on food, she was most apologetic and quietly replaced my cutlery, you certainly do not expect a five star restaurant to give you dirty cutlery.
To sum up my entire stay I found it a very nice place to stay ,the setting on the golf course, with the beautiful beach and sea behind was idyllic, and I felt relaxed staying here.

Myself and my husband went to Doonbeg for our honeymoon after our wedding on New Year’s Eve. We booked a junior suite for three nights which was really lovely,so clean and had sea view (not cheap) The food was lovely and atmosphere was relaxed and just what we needed. Before coming we had advised in the comments that it was our honeymoon, when we checked in the receptionist congratulated us and acknowledged that it was our honeymoon. We weren’t looking for a free nights stay or free meal but an upgrade or even something as small as a glass of wine would have been nice. This is the reason we won’t be back and if we could go back we would choose somewhere different.

This was our first trip away with our newborn baby. We were apprehensive heading on such a long journey with unfavourable weather conditions but right from the get go we were taken care of at every turn. Sometimes it's the idyllic setting, food or facilities that make a lasting impression but it was the staff that left an indelible mark on us. We were blown away by the hospitality and generosity which made life easier and made our trip a memorable one. The food was sensational and the Friday night Tapas cannot be missed. Great food and energy about the place.

Just a final word - My wife in particular came away rejuvenated and with a pep back in her step after a difficult time initially after childbirth and I will be forever grateful for that. This hotel backboned by special staff is a very rare gem and one we will look forward to coming back to.

The hotel is a great location to chill out even if you don't play golf here. There is a long beach right beside it for walks and the staff can not do enough for you.

Long breakfasts are a must looking out on the wildness of the Atlantic.

Food in the bar was also good.

We stayed in a lodge, which was huge and extremely comfortable. While we knew the lodge was a little away from the main hotel, seems not everyone did. The distance is no problem as the hotel includes transport to/from the room in the resort fee. While we were the it was quiet to van arrived in a couple of mins, also we used it one night to go to and from the village for dinner without any problem.

Phenomenal.

Ireland’s lax Covid policy allowed me and a buddy of mine to do a Ireland golf trip of a lifetime.

We decided to quarantine the 14 days and work remotely in the Lahinch area. After quarantine our first stop was Trump Doonbeg.

This was our favorite experience of the entire Ireland golf trip. Put the bias of politics aside. From hole one to hole 18 this was a superb course with exceptional service. The food was second to none in Ireland. We wanted to stay the entire time at Doonbeg.

It was the only place we saw fellow Americans like ourselves lol. The Irish people don’t much like us at the moment due to a group of idiots from Amarillo, TX flaunting skipping quarantine and the Irish media made it act like we were coming into the country by the thousands.

We were able to play Doonbeg 3 times for less than 300 Euro with an incredible Covid rate.

We played, Lahinch, Doonbeg, Ballybunion and Portmarnock. This was our favorite experience.

Felt like home. If you’re from the states, come seek refuge her as you will be welcomed.

Enjoy your time.

When you arrive through the arched entry you are brought to a time and place that seems very European with castle-like design amongst rural farmlands. But is gets better as you are escorted to your room, or in our case a shared 3BR villa with complete kitcxhen facilities and large bathrooms and a GREAT bed! The ammenities are all befitting of the surroundings as the spa, various eating/drinking rooms are all very well appointed and makes you feel very special to be there. The service is impecible and the food top shelf. Our farewell dinner was a 7-course meal with all the right touches. If you love golf, and also want to enjoy the other ammenities on the property this is a must go to destination.

Stayed here for my SEVENTH time over the last few days. The place never fails to disappoint me. The service is top class. The accommodation is wonderful with the beds, pillows and linens giving the best sleep experience you will ever have. I’m actual fact I have enquired as to where I could purchase the pillows and linens myself! The food is delicious and top quality with such generous portions! The maintenance around the entire property is impeccable and the nighttime ambience around the property is gorgeous with all the lighting! And the staff are truly charming, warm, helpful and so obliging. Every time I come here it feels like home and il always a bit sad leaving. I look forward to going again.

Good Afternoon We are located right at the beach which is only minutes walk away. We can arrange horse-riding on the beach for you and it is €60 per person. The times available depend on the tides but it is a lovely experience. We do have 2 restaurants - The Ocean View-"Our Premier Restaurant "has a sea-food influenced menu and Trumps, which is our lively casual dining Restaurant. If you would like to go to the village of Doonbeg - which is a 5 minute drive away, our Guest Service team would be happy to take you and will collect you also upon your return. There are 4 pubs in the village, 2 of which have restaurants and also Morrissey's restaurant. We have the White Horses Spa here also should you wish to have a relaxing treatment or just take some time out in the Wet Rooms. We have a lagoon that is stocked with trout where you could go fishing (all equipment provided) or take a bike ride at this beautiful location. Good evening fionakenn, Regrettably we do not have a pool at the moment. With the Trump International acquisition of the property in 2014, we do have future plans for a pool but it will take a little time. We do however have a beautiful beach fronting the property which many of our guests enjoy. If you do choose to stay with us, please drop me an email on jrusssell@trumphotelscom and I will be pleased to ensure that everything as booked is organised to your satisfaction.
