We arrived at Valle Campanas after being jostled about on a really poor road. So much has changed since our first visit to Costa Rica 19 years ago that we were surprised to find this route has not improved. In contrast, Monteverde has changed. The population must have tripled. The town as well as the bordering town, Santa Elena seems...

If you are looking for a place to stay in Monteverde - don't hesitate, this one is by far the best you can find! We were 2 couples, each with 2 kids ages 4-8. Reina, her husband, their daughter, staff and even their dog Rambo made us feel so welcome, we felt almost like friends coming to visit them. The...

Everything about this place was wonderful. The cabin was spacious, very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfasts, it was a delicious way to start the day. Most of the food from the coffee to the fried cheese was grown or produced on the property. Reina welcomed us with fresh squeezed juice and took the time to explain the...

We had a great time staying at Valle Campanas. The cabin was comfortable and lacked nothing. Reina was a perfect hostess and helped us arrange everything we wanted to do while we were there. You couldn't ask for anything more....it was like having a knowledgeable and helpful friend waiting upon your arrival. She arranged for someone to pick us up...

My wife, my son, and I spent three nights at this beautifully landscaped hotel with it's lovely cabins. It is located down a dirt road, above a valley, with views of the nearby hills and distant Pacific Ocean. Reina, the hostess, spoke English well and was very friendly and helpful about finding us just the right activities among the many...

My husband and I loved staying at Cabanas valle Campanas. We stayed in Santa Elena for the first two nights, and decided to change our last night to Cabanas Valle Campanas and I'm so glad we did. This place was so peaceful. It provided some privacy and essentially our own two story house to stay in for the night. It...

We stayed at Cabanas Valle Campanas in mid-December 2012 at the recommendation of a travel agent. She was accurate in her description: Reina the hostess of the property is warm, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our cabin was one of just a few on the property and my husband and I felt very welcomed. It is a working farm so the family...

There are only 4 cabanas (cabins) in this huge property and the one we stayed (El Mono) is a chalet type dwelling that is truly rustic, complete with kitchenette, hot water, balcony with a hammock and comfortable beds. It can accommodate up to 6 persons easily. The major selling point really is the owner, Reina (and of course her husband...

We had a nice stay at Cabanas Valle Campanas. It is a nice place, very quiet and located about 15 minutes walk from Santa Elena restaurants, bars, stores. Walking at night is not a problem....everywhere we went in Costa Rica. A good breakfast and a fresh fruit juice different every time. The cabin is nice & clean. We did not...

My 12 yr old son and I had a wonderful stay at this relaxing establishment. Reina was helpful and welcoming right from the start, inviting us in for some juice, checking on tour reservations for us, setting up ones which remained to be organized, and acting as a wonderful source for recommendations for places to eat, tours, etc. The cottages...
