My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in a private double room. When we arrived we were welcomed by the very friendly Ro. Once settled Ro then kindly talked us through all of the different options for activities in the area. His advice was really useful in helping us choose which companies etc to use, and they took...

Even though we did not end up sleeping in this hostel, we have to write this review. By the time we arrived in Liberia, we were told at the bus terminal that the road to Santa Elena / Monteverde is closed for construction until 1 November !!! and only opens after 5pm when there are no more public buses. We...

The hostel is centrally located and close to everything in town. Breakfast is great: the banana bread is as delicious as everyone says and you get a filling meal. The rooms are clean, wifi works well inside the rooms and the kitchen is ok. The mattresses are pretty old though and we didn't sleep very well the three nights we...

We stayed here for three nights. Though not my favourite hostel we've stayed in, the rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. The kitchen was okay, not much space to cook or sit. However, the included breakfast in the morning is really good -- eggs, banana bread (which if you're up early will still be warm), fresh fruit, and...

We stayed here for two nights, and everything was awesome! We had a private room because that was all that was left, and they weren't much more than the dorms anyway. We were on a pretty tight budget, and the owner was super helpful in pointing out how to do things as inexpensively as possible. Ask him about the good...

Hosts were great, the rooms were quiet, the view was fantastic. Very decent breakfast (w/ great coffee). Great porch to chill on. Dirt cheap prices. No complaints whatsoever. This hostel is a great place to relax. This was also one of the few places in Costa Rica that I found the wifi to be fairly respectable.

Low budget, but very nice hostel. The rooms have a sort of tree-house feel to them. A little loud with the wind and the road, but very comfortable. The breakfast is great, especially the banana bread! Very, very helpful staff and a good location. Overall would highly recommend Casa Tranquilo!

I stayed at Casa Tranquilo hostel in Santa Elena for two nights. It was only a short walk from the main street of town. The supermarket, restaurants and shops are very close. There is a sloth that lives in the area. The locals can usually pinpoint where she is. Natasha at the front desk gave us all the information we...

Great hostel, stuff really nice and helpful, good breakfast.. Good price. Everything that you need you can find there. There is a kitchen so you can cook. And one more word about the stuff they try to help you , not to sell stuff, and they always try to give student discounts for the activities . Highly recommended
