I stayed at Casa Tranquilo in Santa Elena for two nights and the hostel turned out to be one of the best on my trip to Costa Rica. The dorm was spacious with comfy beds and - I seldom experienced that - a decent hot shower. The free breakfast was amazing as was the host. He helped with booking tours...

At first glance this seems quite basic but the double rooms are good and the staff are very friendly and really helpful. The kitchen needs a little attention perhaps but we really enjoyed staying here. Thank you.

I can't say enough great things about this place! I've been traveling all around the world this year and this was by far one of the best places I've stayed! The rooms were great, bathrooms and showers clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and the staff were excellent! They were extremely helpful with figuring out our plans while in Monteverde,...

We really liked the hostel. The room was really comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well equipped with sharp knives which were much appreciated. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and assisted us both in booking tours and with our onward travel, making everything very easy. The only slight negative was when a rat launched itself from the shelf in...

The hostel is really close to the city center of Santa Elena and close to a supermarket. Positive: you can book all kind of activities with the hostel (zip lining, hikes, night walks,...) and those were good and fun. Unfortunately the hostel itself is medium clean and it seems that the dorm is a little bit abandoned and not that...

I spent 3 nights here. The hostel looks great on the outside and its very clean on the inside. The staff were friendly and chilled, very helpful and often cooked with the guests in the evenings demonstrating cheap, easy and traditional CR/ Central American foods. I was able to get loads if information on activities and places to eat out...

We stayed two nights there and enjoyed our stay : the owners and staff is very friendly, we met a few of the other hostel backpackers as well for beers and diner in the kitchen. We liked our stay at Casa Tranquilo in that sense. However dont expect privacy. The hotel is very loud and not well isolated. The bathroom...

We loved this hostel. The location, the weather, the service, the rooms, everything here is unique. We definitely want to go back. Monteverde is a great place for disconnecting and walk. Any excuse is great to visit this Tico Paradise!

Went to this hostel because of the good review in LP. We arrived late in afternoon in the dark and rain. The hostel looked nice so we asked about the price. Because of we were doubting (it was a bit more expensive than we thought for a private with shared bathroom), I asked about the breakfast and if we could...

Would definitely recommend going here. From the moment we got here we felt right at home, the staff made us feel like family and told us about all the great places and things to do in town. The rooms are bathrooms are kept very clean and the breakfast provided was awesome.
