Jose greets you on the sidewalk when you arrive, and he or the staff help you with every little thing you need. The breakfasts are tasty, authentic Costa Rican, and super fresh fruit is served along with it. Guests are given access to the refrigerator and kitchen to cook their own lunches and dinners, which is a nice, homey touch....

Jose was a very kind host and all in all this was one of the best places we stayed at during our trip. Top location, fast laundry service, comfortable and clean and fully equipped rooms and further facilities. It felt very homely and we often enjoyed the great view from the generous conservatory with rocking chairs. The breakfast was delicious...

This is really great place for the price. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They serve this sirup made of tropical fruit that we really like and after we asked, they gave us very generous portion to take with us.

This is an adorable little place located about 5 minutes walk from the main town. The breakfast is great. The common area has a nice little kitchen and a hangout spot. The bunk beds are a bit uncomfortable but the rooms and bathroom are clean. There are people available to help from 7am to 9 pm. The staff is very...

We just stayed at the Camino Verde B&B. We enjoyed our stay. It felt as if we were staying with relatives in Santa Elena. We had a private room. The room was small but comfortable. It has the basics. It's close to town and the breakfast was good. Andres and Jose were very helpful in booking our excursions. The house...

This place starts with Jose, a great host and a real expert about the area and its offerings. While the rooms were small we were only there to sleep so this was not a problem. Jose arranged trips that even included family members that were staying at another hotel. Breakfast was very generous and filling. B&B is close to many...

A group of 5 of us stayed at Camino Verde in May 2015. We could not have asked for any more from our stay.....central location, comfortable and clean rooms, great breakfast and a wonderful host who organised tours. Monteverde really was the highlight of our Costa Rican experience!

My cousin and I stayed for 3 nights and we were not disappointed. We stayed at the end of our three week trek across Central America and I am so glad we chose Camino Verde for our last stop! Our room was exceptionally clean, beautiful, and quiet. The breakfast was simple but delicious. As the kitchen is open for guests...

So I guess I slept well but there was no air conditioning or heat. The room closest to the entry did not have a door handle it only had a lock and the bottom hinge was coming off. The staff was very nice but the rice at breakfast was very dry as well as the eggs. It was conveniently located....

We loved our stay here from the minute we arrived. Jose is a great host- very informative, professional and went out of his way to help us get to Puerto Viejo after some flooding in the area. The breakfast was great and the whole b&b had a nice homely feeling to it. Room was very clean, great shared bathroom/shower and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Camino Verde B&B is a "Bed and Breakfast" style lodging opened in 2009 and located on the edge of Santa Elena. The B&B is laid out in the style of a family house and guests are encouraged to treat it as their home. The building was in fact once the owner's family home which gave inspiration to this 'Tica House' designed hotel. The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Santa Elena, but is far enough away for it to be quiet and have more rural surroundings. This is the perfect option for those who crave the quiet side of the countryside but who require the amenities provided in a town. FACILITIES: Camino Verde B&B comprises private rooms which sleep 2 to 4 guests. Four of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities and the rest are en suite. ... more   less

  • Large armoire is useful. Mirror near electrical outlets would be good (no bathroom outlet)
  • the hallway to some of the rooms (ours was just past these chairs on the left)
