We upgraded our room on arrival to the superior with the swing in the window, we loved our stay here! Breakfast had 4 choices which were good enough. The hotel manager was extremely helpful for anything we needed or asked. Jorge in the bar was always happy and talkative. We liked our stay so much we added on an extra night. Would choose this place again if we revisited Monteverde.

Hotel wasn't very clean. There was a stain on the bed. Location was nice. Breakfast was adequate. TV didn't have much of a selection. The layout was pretty. The service was nice. And they arranged the tours very well. But. overall, it was a bit disappointing.

Room was terrible. TV not functional. Windows and doors had huge gaps to allow whatever in. Breakfast included, but was awful. “Happy Hour” bar prices were ridiculously inflated, for example a 3oz glass of very inferior wine was 2500 colones. Steep climb from centre of town. Avoid this place! I expect any the good reviews this place received are fakes. This place is also called the Mar Inn B&B.

We have been travelling through Costa Rica for the first time. Did driving around and stayed for a couple of nights at different places to enjoy the nature, volcanoes, beaches, rain forests and other beautiful places. We have spent 2 nights in Monteverde and stayed at this hotel and have really loved it. I think this was one of our favourite hotels. We are budget travelers, so we were looking for basic cheaper places to stay, so we could spend money on going out and actually doing things outside of the hotels and it served its purpose perfectly. It was also the only hotel that had the mini fridge that we have stayed at withing the same price range. This comes in handy in a tropical country when you are trying to keep your beers cold. We had to refill the ice buckets on stop everywhere else. The front desk staff and the owner were super nice and friendly. We have enjoyed chatting with them and they were very helpful with every request we had. The rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast was great and we have really enjoyed their 2 for 1 happy hour drinks. Great place

We had a 1 night stay and it was almost perfect. Check in was super easy as the woman serving us spoke perfect English, and even organised 2 different tours for us. The room (31) had great views out towards the water at the bottom of the mountains. It had a mini fridge and good air conditioning as well. The bed was a bit too firm for our liking and the shower was somewhat unreliable. Breakfast is quick and easy here as well. You have 4 choices and the chef will have it on your table within 10mins! Perfect if you’re doing an early morning tour/activity. There’s good car parking space too!
