This was exactly what I thought a trip to Costa Rica would be like. Clandestino is a secluded, relaxing and very safe boutique resort. The moment I arrived Aurellius introduced us to Maria at the restaurant/bar. They brought us fresh pineapple juice, and brought us to our room/bungalow. My girlfriend and I just thought this was so nice to see...

The food was OK but overpriced, the hotel is taking advantage of its location where there are not good restaurants near. Nice and clean rooms. Electricity service was interrupted twice in only 3 days.

We enjoyed Clandestino a lot. We stayed for 6 nights at the end of our Cost Rican round trip. The rooms are nice, food is good and the pool, beach and sea are magnificant. We worried a bit about the sea, however if you take care it is a lot of fun with big waves and bodyboards wich can be...

An very small independent resort off the beaten path. Some people comment on how it's an arduous journey down such a long dirt road, don't listen to them. Yes it is 2 miles off the main road, but you could do it in a rental car no problem. And when you get there and hit the beach there's no one...

This place was surprisingly awesome. The long ride down the fairly uninhabited dirt road might have you questioning your decision at first, but don't be fooled. The location and resort are beautiful, as is the beach. Staff were friendly, and the food was great. Hotel staff will help you figure out what day trips you might want to take, and...

The grounds and pool are very nice! The room and restaurant are also very nice! The rooms may be a little quieter if they were not adjoined, but it all depends on the type of other guests staying here at the time. The restaurant had good food, but it was a bit salty and a little overpriced. Out of ease,...

My boyfriend and I booked a 6 night stay at this resort and were slightly disappointed. When we landed Thursday afternoon in quepos we took a taxi to the resort where we ended up on long bumpy road which left us both uneasy and skeptical. After 15 minutes down this road we arrived at the clandestino which was beautiful and...

The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are terrific and clean. No question about it. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars.... But something with the staff is amiss -- almost universally the service was very average. Not terrible but clearly the staff lacks a passion for service and helping guests enjoy their stay....

This "4-star" hotel was one of the biggest disappointments in my fairly extensive traveling history. The property is located in a very remote corner of a peninsula off the local town of Parrita and is only accessible by an unpaved road that is quite bumpy. As a matter of fact, the area is so far away from the civilization that...

Hello first of all thank you for this great comment. I will answer to all that you have written point by point. Yes, sir, is a 4-star hotel, You came to Costa Rica and unfortunately your entire stay in our country was at our hotel, so you could not see how close we are everywhere. 8 km from the town...

Stayed 3 nights at Clandestino from 6/10 to 6/13. This little gem was a piece of paradise and a welcome relief from the harrowing drive we had just completed from LA Fortuna. When we arrived, we were first greeted by the security guard who took us to reception. Check in was quick and easy! We were then taken to the...
