This hotel is very well located for trips to Galle and Unawatuna. We had a great time swimming in the nearby lagoon. We watched the turtles from our room and balcony swimming very close to the hotel and also swam near them in the lagoon. There are a few restaurants and bars close by. Thank you to Nowshad for all your help and to Dammika for keeping our room spotless, great towel art and for always helping generally. I a, sure we will return one day.

We stayed here for 3 nights. For the price they ask they should offer much much more. When we arrived the bedsheets were dirty. The entire hotel looks like needs renovations. The furniture was old, smelly and dirty The breakfast is poor. The hotel is seriously under stuffed and it is basicly runned by three youngsters in their twenties which are at the same time servers, bartenders and beach boys. The beach in front of the hotel is small. Overall, poor accommodation conditions.

Room Tip: The accommodation service is poor and overpriced, like most of the sri Lankan beach hotels.

Stayed here for 3 nights. We booked on Priceline as unavailable elsewhere. Not cheap for what it is. Maybe 3 * but staying at other hotels only just. Very clean. Staff were lovely. It looked like all rooms had a great ocean view. The pool was enclosed so got no sun and was cold. This Hotel is on the sandy beach 50 yds from the sea. Only strong swimmers can swim right outside the hotel but 100yds to the left was a natural ocean pool. That looked really safe. The breakfast was good but beware other guests filled their plates to overflowing then didn't eat it! Very annoying! Would prefer a breakfast plate to be served then able to ask for more. But guess covid rules need to be buffet. Didn't eat dinner in as so many restaurants to try. Got a tuk tuk to the tourist street and 500 mtrs of beach restaurants and bars. Tuk tuk 500 lkr. A lot of sunbeds on the beach but some guests reserved with towels. We removed the towels and sat for 4 -5 hours the selfish guests didn't come back. Would stay here again.

On the twenty-sixth of December we arrived as a family. Breakfast was very delicious, plentiful. The service itself is perfect and our room is beautifully tidied up every day Dammika and Layan. Outside the clean room, a lot of wonderful towel folding was waiting for us every day. In the restaurant, any of our requests were fulfilled immediately. The people who work there are very kind and smiling. Chamila’s all-day kindness always filled us with joy. Thx everything!

Stayed a couple of nights here. Very clean, comfortable rooms with a nice balcony. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast ok but could do with improvement and a bit more choice. Location suffers from being a bit far from Unawatuna centre

Sayura Beach Hotel was an unexpected for us. The hotel is small but has really clean and comfortable rooms which can be compared with any * class hotel. The staff are really great and accommodating. The location on what I would think is some of best real estate on the Una stretch. Plenty of food options close by and the hotel itself has some good food options.

This use to be one of my most favourite places to go. The beach and the hotel are stunning. However this visit it seemed the hotel had given up on basics..We had a terrible time because the AC kept going off though the night. The reception rang me up accidentally at 5 am in the morning and that I would have tolarated if not for the breakfast they served...The food was so bad it was inedible...so I didnt eat what was given and ordered food..that was worse. While the hotel didnt charge me for it I was throughly disappointed...the staff was nice and tried to be helpful and as always the location was great but I think Sayura has really bad management and is probably one of the most underutilised properties in Unawatuna..they rely solely on the property to sell it self.

We walked in the room and were stunned by the gorgeous views. A lovely balcony with chairs and a table, waves crashing on the shore, sea turtles poking their heads out, monkeys gallivanting in the trees. The hotel was getting ready to close down but the service never wavered. Breakfast was perfect, overlooking the beach. We had lunch and beverages the last day. You can swim with the turtles just a two minute walk away. What a bonus to end our vacation.

We spent a fantastic 3 days at Sayura Beach hotel . The management and staff were very welcoming. Our room was modern, clean, had comfortable beds and good aircon! Views from the room and breakfast terrace were stunning! We could watch surfers as well as watch monkeys in the trees close to the terrace. Easy access to the beach as well as complimentary comfortable sun- beds. An added bonus was the opportunity to swim with turtles in the saw and in the nearby tidal-pool . Definitely a hotel we will return to. (Andrew and Eva)

Andrew and Eva Thank you for your review. Some people try to ride on the sea turtle which is not recommended as that is a harassment for the turtles. Act of many people chasing the turtles from behind for videos and photographs might also be a harassment? But they love the feed of sea weed which you can buy. at the beach.
