We stayed at Apa for 4 nights and from start to finish everything was outstanding. We were offered a free room upgrade so had a huge beach front room overlooking the beautiful pool area and beach. You have your own buzzer to press and a butler appears instantly to attend to any needs you may have and to take any food/drink orders. You eat your food on your own private terrace outside your room overlooking the pool and beach. Food here was amazing. Breakfast was included and we also had a floating breakfast in the pool one day. We also had dinner here twice which was some of the best food we’ve ever tasted, we completely felt like we were fine dining and not just eating ‘standard hotel food’. The service here was impeccable. From start to finish we felt like royalty. Nothing we asked was too much. Everyone here made our stay the most amazing stay I have ever experienced. I usually would never revisit a hotel no matter how good as I like the idea of experiencing different places but this is the only resort I have ever stayed in that I would 1000% come back in a heartbeat. I have travelled and stayed in many resorts and I must say this is the best place I have ever stayed in.…
Lovely boutique hotel with beautiful ambiance. Close to Wijaya and Dalawella beaches. Floating breakfast available in pool overlooking the ocean. A special shout out to Suresh the Manager for his hospitality and attention to detail. We really appreciated the super crab meal he organised for us. Also to Nishantha who waited on us and saw to all our needs. We look forward to returning!
VERY BAD, definitely NOT WORTHY : cockroachs in the room when we arrived we had to insist the 2nd days to remove them (they didn’t clean the room, change the towels and bring water), the first night we didn’t have hot water, the service is bad ( at breakfast they told us to in the morning we should have asked for a special meal/options the day before but they had told us nothing the day before), food is bad, we asked them to book a taxi from thalpe to waduwa they told us 60$ which is X2 the price and pretended they didn’t know it was too expensive. The manager kept saying « it’s not me it’s my colleague » when we told them about the many many issues… Definitely not understand the reviews below…
Food was great, rooms clean and airy.. Didn’t miss the television which they had before … bathrooms huge and such a luxury …. The service was tailored to our requirements and timings…. This was a friends together getaway and throughly worth it …
Great location by the beach. They gave us a free upgrade to saffron villa. Unusual bed but comfortable and cosy. Spacious villa. Infinity pool needs cleaning. Had a nice walk along the beach. Surprisingly no traffic noise. Lunch was ok. In writing dinner sounded delicious and tempting. Sadly it wasn’t up to standard. Chicken and fish served on the same plate. Extremely disappointed. Seems to me their standards varies to credit card offers. Since there are only 7 rooms, Ideal for a small group .
Absolutely amazing place. Very unique in the world. Beautiful, quite with colonial very luxurious accommodation. Pool almost at the beach. Very friendly staff. You feel being here like in paradise. I can recommend it to all both couples and familes
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Flexible options for breakfast. The seafood dinner was nothing but the best. Definitely will visit again. The pool and the garden was properly maintained. Hats off to the lady cleaner Mallika who keeps everything in order from morning to the late evening. The manager Suresh was very kind and accommodative to the guest requirements.
A special thank you to Suresh & his team for ensuring my parents & family had a fantastic time at Apa villa! The rooms are very spacious with the the added bonus of sea view and open veranda to enjoy meals in private. The chefs were excellent! Suresh did his best to accomodate all our food requests! The waiters were very attentive and ensured we were always attended to and enjoying our stay. On one evening while walking on beach I purchased fish from stilt fisherman and the chefs were happy to cook the fish for me! This is true home away from home decadence! The hammocks & day beds scattered around the property ensured we all had a relaxing time! As we navigate a pandemic, Apa villa offered the perfect solution! Beachside boutique accommodation that offered all the perks needed to be pampered whilst ensuring privacy & reduced risk of exposure! A special thank you to the reservation team! They ordered a seamless process!…
Apa Villa is a small Villa with just seven rooms right on the beach. What's special about this place is the location, the architecture, the very personal experience this Villa offers you. The food is great, the staff very friendly, helpful and respects your privacy. The manager makes sure you are well taken care of. Loved the salt water pool and the stunning sunsets. One of the nicest Villas in the country.
We had high expectations of Apa Villa based on the pictures and friends who had visited but our stay was really disappointing... The food was not even upto the standards of even a three star hotel. The rooms and bathroom were a bit run down and not value for money as per their rate of 40k (LKR) a night. The WiFi was really bad and there was no phone connection as well. On the plus side, the location was great, right on the beach and with a nice pool.
