Palm Grove is located in an idyllic village setting. Very quiet setting. Away from the nightlife but still within walking distance to all locations. Only a 10 minute stroll to the shops, bars, restaurants and the beautiful bay of Unawatuna. There are many tours that you can take from Unawatuna to suit all tastes. The turtle hatchery is less than 20 minutes away, as is Koggala Lake where you can take a relaxing boat trip on the Lagoon and visit some of the small islands situated there. A three to four day tour will take you to Ella with its waterfalls, Nuwara Eliya with its tea plantations and greenery. The 'Temple of the Tooth' at Kandy and the nearby 'Elephant Orphanage' are also well worth a visit.

We stayed four nights at Palm Grove and loved it all. Great location, huge comfortable room with air con and fan, great rooftop and other spaces for relaxing. But best of all was the fantastic and helpful hospitality from Lorraine and Paul, plus their staff. Highly recommended.

Most beautiful guest house I've stayed in. Lorraine and Paul made us feel so welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was fresh and was available at any time that you wanted it. Plenty of relaxing places to chill amid the monkeys, chipmunks and birds in the palm trees surrounding us. Rooms where cleaned to a high standard daily , hot showers fresh towels and washing facilities for laundry were available daily done by the staff. Rooms were Air conditioned and fridges available to buy drinks. Short walk to the beach and drivers available to take you in the tuk tuk to idyllic beautiful beaches and sanctuarys. Would recommend staying here to everyone I know. A beautiful paradise can't wait to book again. Thank you so much Lorraine and Paul love Vicky and Rory xx

Rooms were spacious and super clean, hot water, and good amenities. Lorraine and Paul are wonderful hosts, and their staff is absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful. We loved the terrace on the top and spent most of our time relaxing at the guesthouse away from the bustling noise. highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to visit the busy unawatuna but has a piece of paradise to come back to. Its close enough to the beach and shops but far away enough to get. a good nights sleep.

We really enjoyed our stay in lovely quiet Palm grove. A small walk to the beach, in a quiet back street. The room was excellent with two single beds and a double bed, all with good mosquito nets. The owners and staff were super-helpful and friendly, especially to our kids. The honesty fridge was nice and also great that there was space for us to put our own food and drinks. The areas for relaxing with hammocks and sofas were lovely, we could see monkeys and squirrels all day long. The breakfast was also lovely, and although a little pricey it was free for the children which made it good value overall. We would love to come back!

Gorgeous breakfast, amazing wildlife, walkable to local beaches and restaurants. The couple running it can give you all the help you need and organise good value taxis. There are a fair few power cuts across Sri Lanka at the moment, but that's out of control of the guesthouse! Would definitely stay again.

This is now my 5th year staying at this wonderful place. As always, Paul, Lorraine and their brilliant staff make you more than welcome. The rooms are so big and clean with the awesome terrace on the roof to chill out. It was my sons first visit and he fell in love with the place , just as I did 5 years ago. The breakfasts are exactly what you need to set you up for the day and not having a set time to eat is a bonus when a lie in is needed. The friendly, relaxed atmosphere at Palm Grove is perfect for either a short or very long stay. Thanks for yet another lovely time and will see you all very soon xxx

Loved this find! Stayed for two nights, a short walk away from the beach so it’s quiet at night, the surrounds are breathtaking- like something out of the jungle book. Owner Lorraine is lovely and the local staff are gorgeous and helpful and chatty. They have a very useful fridge with drinks that you can take, and use a tally system so you pay at the end. The rooms are spotless and clean (although a bit dated but that doesn’t matter - fits right in with the charm!). Only downside is there is no credit card facility so you pay in cash.

Beautiful quiet place surrounded by trees and wildlife. Just a short walk from the beach and away from the busy road. Lorraine, paul & all the staff were so friendly! Lots of knowledge of the area if you need it. We had the best breakfast in the most tranquil place. The roof top terrace is also great for sundowners. We travelled with our 5 year old daughter, the family room downstairs was perfect! Clean, Comfy beds and mosquito nets, we also had flowers and our towels made into the shape of two swans ! Great touch and went down very well with our daughter. We will definitely return to palm grove and want to say a huge thank you for such a memorable stay.

We are regular visitors to Sri Lanka and always enjoy spending a few days at Palm Grove. Thank you Paul, Lorraine and the lovely staff for another enjoyable stay in January. Rooms are as spotlessly clean and comfortable as ever and Melanie's Sri Lankan breakfasts are superb. We're already looking forward to returning (hopefully later in the year).
