Love this hotel. Had a room at the top with my own balcony with a table and chairs. It was beautiful. Nice and clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the guys. Breakfast was ample and tea when ever I asked for it. As I was on my own they looked out for me. Unawatuna is so beautiful I loved the narrow lanes, shops and restaurants.I have travelled to Bali and was disappointed with the beaches but Unawatuna beach was out of this world. I would recommend staying here and if I return to Sri Lanka would stay again.
At first we couldn’t find, since google map was wrong. But everyone in Unawatuna is so helpful and nice! The owner is so cool. Helped us booking things, recommended sundiving for scuba diving - great place! And even helped my friend fix her phone. The staff and him are very Generous but likes to party. The room was okay. Nice aircon, hot water and cute bed. 10 min walk through the nice Streets of unawatuna where you Can eat and looks at stores before you get to the lovely Beach!
Great location, just 200m from the main road and main road to the beach. Not accessible by car, only scooter, tuk tuk or by foot. Just next to busy street with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. For us it the area was too touristy but that’s just a personal thing. Looking at the photos I was disappointed comparing these photos to the rook we got. It was super small, no room at all, pls, hit shower not working. I didn’t feel too comfortable and only stayed one instead of two nights. Big bed with mosquito net, AC was working and kept the room cool. Very thin mattress, not very comfy. It was loud at night (mostly dogs barking) and bright, floodlights from across the street were shining straight into our room. Staff was friendly. Nothing special and way too expensive for what it is!!…
Three of us had a week here during the England-Sri Lanka test match at nearby Galle. Very good value, even with us all having a room each. Located on a quiet residential back road, a short 5 mins walk to the beach past all the shops/restaurants. Our rooms were situated on the first floor and opened out onto the large terrace where breakfast was eaten. Decent sized rooms with large beds surrounded by mosquito nets. Bathroom functional. Air-con was fantastic. Breakfast was either continental - tea, fruit, toast, choice of eggs - or the absolutely huge Sri Lankan option. Served by 2 incredibly hardworking young lads who were always around to help. If you're happy to be a short walk from the beach then this a nice option at a good price. Friendly owner too, who ended up driving us all the way to Nuwara Eliya.…
Excellent experience. Anyone can have the warmth Sri Lankan hospitality. You can taste any kind of food like Sri Lankan style or sea food in Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Ukrainian or western tastes. All rooms are with air conditioning and hot water. Staff speake English and anytime you can use your Google translate for better communications.
