The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located right on the beach with many bars and restaurants in short walking distance. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. If you a looking for an easy going, no fuss hotel I would recommend a stay here.
This is a good 3-star class hotel. We went over the peak holiday period (New Year holidays), and so prices were a bit more expensive than usual, which is completely understandable. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was filling and good and we had a good stay overall. The location is great too, just by the beach! The reason I am not giving 5 points for this stay is because I wasn't able to get very useful suggestions for day trips/guided tours to Galle - I was told the hotel could arrange a tuk-tuk for me and that was it. Staff was nice, but nothing that really surprised us or exceeded expectations. Also, it's a bit noisy at night, so if you're a light sleeper, this might be a problem. I would recommend this hotel. But just bear in mind that this is a 3-star hotel, so don't expect it to be something else.…
Unawatuna Beach Bungalows made our stay in Unawatuna! Such hospitable staff who made us feel incredibly welcome. Really clean rooms - not high end luxury but that’s more than made up for in the level of service, convenience for the beach and delicious breakfasts. Would highly recommend!
We stayed here for 4 nights during our stay in Sri Lanka and found the staff to be incredibly helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location beside the beach. The rooms have air conditioning and are a great size with a good ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was good and we were well looked after here with fruits, fruit juice, eggs, omelettes, toast with butter and jam and tea and coffee. I would stay here again for sure
We stayed for 4 days in January. Hotel staff is really warm n friendly..but thats true for all the people im sri lanka. The hotel is 2 mins from the beach. Its a basic place however warm and neat n clean. The only issue is that the rooms r really small. Sufficient for 1 person. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. The toast served during breakfast is one of the best i have ever eaten.
We enjoyed our stay in the unawatuna beach bungalow and would recommend it to everyone! The rooms are very nice! Even so have a refrigerator and the beds are super comfy. The people are so helpful, nice, friendly, gave us very good tips about things to do. The location is perfect, because it is right across from the ocean. So make sure to get a room in the upper floors so you have a good view ;) also it is very well located for a day trip to galle. The breakfast is delicious and they help you to make the best out of your stay! We can just say again: thank you so much for everything! Es tuti!!!! Lea and Alisa
Thank you for the whole staff for our relaxing classic beach holiday at Unawatuna Beach Bungalow. Everywhere perfect cleanliness (room, bathroom, common areas), ocean view from our room and very kind, helpful staff. When we needed, we got immediate help from the staff otherwise we could live our days calmly. We would definitely come back, hope to see you soon!! :)
Excellent little hotel just a few paces from the beach. Lovely friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Can't remember names but a big thanks to the guy who cleaned our room every day and the "in house" tuk tuk driver who couldn't have been more helpful. Delicious breakfast. Loads of fabulous restaurants nearby. Would definitely return.
we stayed here for 3 nights. we had a nice double room with a nice four poster bed. room was clean and spacious. Although there was warm water, it was mostly warm during the day and not at night when we wanted to shower (luke warm at best). They only served western breakfast with toast, which is not our favourite (at all), so it was a pity they did not serve any sri lankan breakfast (even if it only would have been roti or something). Especially the last night it was quite noisy outside and there was loud music (presumably coming from the beach). Of course the owners cannot help that, but it did keep us awake, unfortunately. the location is very nice though (except for the noise), it is very close to the beach and close to the main street with restaurants and shops.
The room was a little dark and there was some noise from the street at night BUT the hotel is a 30 second walk from the best part of the beach, the owner and staff are all friendly and helpful, the breakfast is plentiful (fruit selection, Sri Lankan omelette, bread, jam and butter), the AC works well, and most importantly it is very good value for money. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is budget conscious but not wanting to compromise on a central location.
