The friendliness of the staff stood out. Ready to assist and answer any questions. Excellent daily breakfast. Although it is advertised as a resort it felt more like backpacker accommodation. The shower was not very clean and there was a lack of hot water. Cleaning of the room needed to be requested as only one key was available. Close to family friendly beach. Overall we felt safe and comfortable.

Firstly the young men who worked in the hotel could not have been more helpful, they were everything you would want from good customer service. A credit to the establishment. They went up and beyond what I expected, brilliant! The place was very clean and breakfasts were great. We stayed in the deluxe double with balcony, the outlook onto the coconut trees was great. I was a bit annoyed to be welcomed at reception by a young women asking for full payment before we had even seen the room. She also made a mess of the bill at checkout, which was unsettling. It’s a good hotel but for the cost I think I would look elsewhere if I was staying in that area again.

Pretty good resort, nice pool which was great after day at beach, 2 minute walk to beach and restaurants, 10 min walk to Dickwella beach which is a much nicer beach but has no surf, we came to Hiriketiya 2 years ago and was great, still nice but overtaken by oh so hip and happening European hippie backpackers who look like they are having the most miserable time, the hotel is really quite so was nice and relaxing, rooms cleaned every day, good aircon, has a fridge. Only downside was we had triple room,there is only one triple and I did not realise does not come with balcony and I like a balcony, breakfast was very bland and tasteless. Rooms could do with tea and coffee making facilities. They are apparently adding 26 more beds and making some dorms for backpackers which will probably ruin the place as was mostly couples and families staying and from my experience you either cater to one or the other, if that does not happen would definitely stay again.

The Hotel is very close to the beach hence a very convenient spot to chill by the beach and explore Hiriketiya, however the stay at Hiriketiya Beach Resort was terrible, especially due to the rude and inhospitable staff. they were extremely unwelcoming and disrespectful to me and my friends from the beginning. we will never return to this place.

This is the best place to stay in Hiriketiya. 50 meters away bay.
Friendly staff , nice environment, good food and helpful management.
Staff helped us to plan our stay in Matara. Special thanks for Udam, who welcomed us and took care of us till we leave from the place.

Nethmi greeted us with a lovely help. There was a mix up with our booking but they were quick to help us fix it. We had a beautiful big room. The pool saved us from the scorching heat! It was minutes walk from the beach. We had resident monkey and nothing but the sounds of the jungle around us.
I complemented the chef Supun on his Dahl and he promptly offered me an impromptu (FREE) cooking class the next day outside where he showed me how to make the Dahl and all the curry fixings, which we proceeded to eat for lunch. The breakfasts were great each morning and included. The Gin and Tonics pool side were just what I needed. Our stay there was very relaxing and I would definitely go back. Sorry about the photos. I took a lot of video but trip advisor wont give me the option to up load it.

We loved our stay. The hotel is a calm and peaceful oasis just steps from the great surf at the beach. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Best place to stay in Hiriketiya and highly recommend!

Rather big rooms, hot water, a lot of light in a room! Great friendly staff! Nice and clean swimming pool. Hotel is not far from beach, it takes about 3 minutes walk to the seaside. Some rooms are with balcony with garden view. Thanks a lot for good vacation !

To keep it short. This place needs a lot of work. It was filthy: dust, cobwebs, dirty linnen, nasty pool. Nothing seemed to have been cleaned in months. We paid waaaay too much for what we got. Bad breakfast, undrinkable coffee, missing staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

We stayed a full week at this hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful at all times, a pleasure to deal with. The room was light and spacious with great views, it was comfortable and clean. Great accessibility for local restaurants and the wonderful beach, even a mobile bank now within 100metres.
